A team on its way to finishing 5th in the Premier League would demolish our current team struggling to make the play offs in League 1. I don't quite get what the surprise is there.
The issue is that our current squad built over several transfer windows with Lambert is far from good enough. I am still hopeful that Cook can get it into the play offs but he needs to build a squad to compete in the Championship. The first step to that will be trimming this bloated squad.
Even if we had a squad capable of getting into the top half of the Championship, it should lose comfortably to that team of 2000. No surprises there. |  |
