This ITFC ‘Athleisure’ range... 12:08 - May 18 with 4842 viewsBLUEBEAT

Is this the beginning of the end in regards to the Adidas connection?

I hope not.

Last thing I want is another Punch-like range. Cringe.

Poll: W or W

I suspect with the Ed Sheeran sponsorship Adidas will want to hang around for at least another season.

i wouldn't buy it but for someone to wear playing 5 a side or something? Why not? Nothing really wrong with it.

As for the OP, who cares about Adidas? They were met with much excitement...for some reason...and then everyone bitched when we got a template kit.

Truly impaired.

Another year left on the adidias deal I believe.

But yeah that Athleisure stuff is just awful, who comes up with these designs and who is it aimed at?!

Used to wear tops like that spending my 6 week holidays down on the astro by the ground. Lovely tops for that reason.

I am sorry but in terms of aesthetic and being unique the Punch range trumps the standard adidas templates we have had by a country mile. Punch created an identify for Ipswich Town, which we lost when we switched to Mitre and even more so now it's Adidas.

If I had to choose a top five favourite shirts of all time list, Punch would have made two of them

Not sure if Ashton had anything to do with it but Bristol City were making their own kits for a few years under the "Bristol Sport" brand.

I loved the Punch kits, the Adidas template kits are just boring.

The Punch kits were such poor quality from an athletic standpoint though - they are like wearing a fleece - i know it was different times then but they were a step down from Umbro.

The Adidas shirts are really good quality in that respect, much better than Mitre were and noticeably so when wearing them

If it was up to me we'd have a euro-chic manufacturer like Macron or Hummel but sadly I doubt a sleepy family club turned US-owned commercial entity have the cred to pull it off.

I always find Macron kits really poor quality, not worn or felt a Hummel one but they do look good

I’d say they were equals on that front, to be honest.

Possibly controversial, but I’d put the Umbro one with laces not far behind those 2.

I care about Adidas.

It’s a cult label.

I collect Trefoil and Spezial ranges.

The brand is associated with ITFC’s greatest years.

I can remember the horror and disgust from most when the 95 kit was launched. I was Portman Road the day they did the team photo and the kit (if I remember rightly) wasn't published at the time. Can remember the horror of seeing Lee Chapman and Ian Marshall walk out onto the pitch for the photo shoot. Horrible.

I think the shirt on its own might have been passable, but the matching shorts and white socks were a definite no-no for me.

We had three great home kits under Punch. 1997-99, 1999-2001 and 2003-05.

There were also a plethora of fine away kits, the black/cream stripes, orange/navy, white/black 2000-02.

Adidas is solid, still one year to go on the current deal.

Agree, Hummell and Macron would be great, more so Macron who do bespoke kits for all clubs signed up with them.

Speaking personally, I much prefer the kits made by Punch than any of the lazy efforts by Adidas.

Saying that it’s down to the club to pick the right template so maybe they’ve just picked the most drab option.
