The Premier League... 12:20 - Jan 11 with 4679 viewshoppy

That is its name. It has been since 2007. Why do people STILL call it the 'Premiership' almost 15 years later?

Why does anyone call it’s anything but the First Division, which is what it is? I am waiting for League One, the Third Division, to be rebranded as the EFL1 Silver Championship Division B.

True, I'm just impatient.

On another Premiership-themed space question: which has more atmosphere - the moon or London Stadium?

Good opening bid, although I'm sure there'll be someone along in a minute to rock the official name of the entity: "The Football Association Premier League Limited".

Also, carefully what you wish for. For me, "the Premiership" is a mildly irritating title, but the phrase "EPL" is gaining currency. That would put us on this country on the same footing as NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL in the States, and IPL in cricket. I personally think that would be worse.

By the time we get there, doubtless it will be the third tier behind the ESL and ISDL (European Super League and Intergalactic Super Duper League).

A quick google search and by all accounts the Moon has a very tenuous atmosphere consisting of some unusual gases…on reflection basically the same as the London Stadium.

I regret that I won’t be around to see Ipswich compete in the Intergalactic Super Duper League. Now that sounds like a truly brilliant league to be in.

Do most people still call recording off the telly these days as "taping" something? Even though tapes haven't been used for 15 to 20 years?

I've always called it recording, even when it was recording on tape.

It was called the Premiership when we were last there though right?

Worse, it is often marketed overseas as "the EPL" - now that is annoying. Whatever marketing bod came up with that should be shot at dawn.
