Covers better than originals 00:00 - Feb 1 with 5470 viewsWhos_blue

I suspect this has been done here before, but always good to see another music thread.

I'll throw this one down first.
It takes the song and does something incredible with it.

As a Brucey bonus, I'll also add this.

I love The Who, but Elton shreds this mofo.

I can think of 3 Dylan tracks off the top of my head to get others started!

Distortion becomes somehow pure in its wildness.

(Original by Leonard Cohen)

(Original by The Beatles - sorry, I just prefer this version)

(Original by Nine Inch Nails - this is the undisputed greatest cover in all of musical history)

Possibly sacrilege, but I prefer this to the original (sounds a bit 'fuller' for want of a better word)

Huge fan of Marvin and Motown, but the original is way too upbeat for the lyrics...

The Elton John version of Pinball Wizard is better, in my view, much as I like The Who.

For my two pennyworth I give you, and prefer, the Status Quo version of the classic Doors track Roadhouse Blues. Sadly, this YouTube version is missing the original drummer Coghlan but it’s not bad.

There are at least two better versions of that song. One being the original by Chris Farlowe. The other being by Rod Stewart.

For a bonus point, what links the bass on this track to The Who?

Thank you. A better version is this off the 1977 Live album when in their prime.

Not a Beatles fan, but this is good (always liked Petty, Lynne and Windwood) and Prince’s guitar solo at the end one of the best I’ve ever heard. He totally shreds it. It’s worth watching just for that. Sensational.
