Cummings comes up with the receipts again…

Ambushed by beer and cake on the same day. Unfortunate

At a constituency working event when the law changed 4 days previously?

Indeed. Sunak hasn’t lied about it though I guess

Barrister Adam Wagner, an expert in Covid laws, said: “The legal question for the Prime Minister is whether he participated in the gathering.

“The fact that he was photographed holding a beer strongly suggest he did and therefore committed a criminal offence of the regulations

Different time in relation to restrictions then?

It would be easy, I would think, to argue they were very similar but if the time is different in term of restrictions that would be different. Which is what I wanted to establish.

Starmer was literally not breaking the regs had changed 4 days previously.

Johnson was breaking the law. As confirmed by a QC who has specialised in Covid law.

Is the punishment a fine? Considering what he has got away with so far, I can still see that being all he gets.

In a sense I take no joy from the irony that Cummings who was defended by Johnson when he clearly broke the rules initially, is taking the shots here. The whole lot of their party are rotten.

Yes, but the fine is because he broke the law and has lied to/misled parliament about it.

Which means he has to resign in any normal application of the rules

Is there an actual rule?

This is the man who had to be taken to court to prevent him proroguing parliament isn't it?

He’ll have plenty of boot lickers lining up to say Boris was just holding their beer. The amount of people still queuing up to defend him and sacrifice what little dignity they have left, despite him looking like a dead man walking, is quite incredible.

He can’t survive this can he. Can he? Surely not.

You’d assume not.

The police report is not going to be kind. The full Sue Gray report will not be kind.

And a QC is confirming they broke the law.

I’m sure Nadine will continue to defend it though
