i must say the standard i expected a bit better not just from Our girls but West Ham are super league but i wouldn’t cross the road to watch this sort football seen better lads games across the park ,I would say half decent Sunday league pub side would beat these sides.
Don’t get the hype of tv coverage of WSL.

I don't agree with the general point about coverage of the women's game as a lot at the top level is decent now, but this game is really scrappy and with very little quality so far.

Not that surprising from us given the gap in ability between the two teams - plus West Ham's players all look much bigger than us - but West Ham are just as scrappy tbh.

Just saw the highlights from Arsenal - Coventry and the Arsenal side showing how its done.

They know how to move the ball properly and create for each other. Real gulf in class and Coventry looked very amateurish in comparison.

I've no idea but assume from that Coventry are some way below Arsenal league wise.

Arsenal were/are very good. Coventry are a Championship team - one up from Ipswich.

It is only just getting started the past 10 years, there is a lot less investment in it, (Ipswich players are mostly part-time) and also, there are far less women playing football than men (mainly as girls have a lot of other popular sporting activities including dance / gymnastic etc, which boys do less of).

The quality will improve year on year, and I fully expect the attendances / money to keep improving.

I enjoy watching the women's games, they are different, but they are still trying to get that ball into the net!

Our Ipswich Town have the biggest game in their history. They're still semi-pro, train 3 days a week, playing a full-time pro team with a load of internationals, they're giving it everything they've got. And you thought this precise moment was a great time to offer your opinion on the state of women's football? What on Earth did you think you were adding to the world by doing that?

Keeper is very keen on blazing balls out when she could just drop and collect them. Very odd.

Depends what's said.

Most negative comments tend to be people who try to compare the football to the mens game when it's completely different yet still enjoyable to watch.

Clearly different levels between the two teams.

That being said, it would be nice to see our lot play a forward pass on the floor.

Jay... would we need promotions before going fulltime or is it something that could be done even at tier 3?

Because you can say this isn't a good game without generalising.

As others note, this has been poor but I've only seen a bit and there's not really been enough going on to keep me interested, but as I was saying elsewhere if you'd seen the Arsenal play earlier their passing and movement was easy on the eye.

Assume it's something that the club can decide off its own bat, but that the economics don't make sense in the 3rd tier?

What's the point you're making tho?

Women's football is one of the biggest growing sports playing catch up to the men's game. It has its own fan base and imo it's like golf and cricket in that if you don't enjoy it don't watch it.

Our ladies are top of their league that's all that matters. It's a growing side and one which will no doubt be fulltime in years years to come and something the town can be proud of alongside the men's side.
