Well, all the other strikers haven't exactly been setting the world on fire. What have we got to lose?

IF we win our remaining 7 games. on 10:21 - Mar 21 with 2212 views | clive_baker | Seems like that's 2 managers now who clearly don't rate Norwood enough to involve him, perhaps that should tell us something. McKenna can clearly judge a player, he sees training all week and by and large he hasn't got a lot wrong thus far, so I think it's fair to give him the benefit of the doubt and assume there's a valid reason he's reluctant to use Norwood. I don't think he's a bad player FWIW. Well, I don't think he's a great player, but I would say he's a relatively effective one when fit. His return is decent, when he plays. He puts himself about, makes a nuisance of himself. I wouldn't be averse to him playing but it would have to be in a 2, and for me that's not practical if we are to involve both Celina and Chaplin, which we absolutely should. IF we win our remaining 7 games. on 10:53 - Mar 21 with 2021 views | itfcsuth | We won't win every game between now and the end of the season. We have Plymouth (H), Wigan (H), Rotherham (A).
IF we win our remaining 7 games. on 11:07 - Mar 21 with 1960 views | blueislander | Bonne will probably be first choice now anyway.. Who would you drop to play Norwood, bearing in mind that selecting Norwood and Bonne changes the formation?

Out of all of our remaining games I think the Wigan and Rotherham games may well be the most likely to win. Plymouth come to take a point. All the others will be happy with a point as well. Wigan and Rotherham have it all to play for and should come and be open and attack.

I think we'll beat Plymouth. Our best performances have come when we've had a full weeks prep, Morsy might well be back to start. Celina and Chaplin purring, Bonne through the middle. At home. Then we'll back it up with 3 points against Cambridge and the dream will be alive going into the final 5. Heard it here first.

What have we got to lose? A system which has been developing really well with two number 10s from Celina, Aluko and Chaplin, which has just been missing (OK, badly missing) someone to hold the ball up well. OK, we wouldn't destroy our progress so far by going back to two number 9s, but I wouldn't change the ethos now. I think there's a better chance of Bonne clicking into this current system for the play-offs, and definitely a better long-term style for us to stick to. I think it's a case of trust the process, or rather trust the formation, and if it means next season, so be it.

Oh yes, Bonne with his 1 goal in 5 months, setting the world on fire!

Our highest scoring win under McKenna, 4-0, was with Bonne and Norwood up front. And they both scored. It was the last goal Bonne scored. So it isn’t a silly suggestion. However, you’d have to drop Chaplin or Celina with 2 up top and both are playing very well.

IF we win our remaining 7 games. on 11:49 - Mar 21 with 1741 views | RobTheMonk | The striker problem is the current elephant in the room. Jackson injured, Bonne hasn't scored for an age, Norwood doesn't seem to be fancied and Piggot seems to have reverted to a poor amateur footballer. We won't get promoted without a striker scoring goals at the very least semi-regularly. Burns has been the one who looks most likely to score every game; we need someone up top that we can say that about.
