Didzy released 20:50 - May 13 with 3676 viewsLeeds_Blue

Just seen that didzy has been released, the Sheffield fans acting as if they’ve lost an all time great. On the other hand I’d take him back in a heart beat only 36, could still do a job as proved by other oldies coming down to this league. Him and Hirst would be stellar up front!

Would you guys take him? I only would if there was a guaranteed youngster being signed too…

No. He is 36. He also struggled living in Nottingham and commutting to Suffolk. His hamstrings are going to be worse then they were when his injury record at Town was not good.

We need to aim higher.

Not now, loved watching him play but he’s too old now and probably never had the mobility for a McKenna team at his fittest.

Given the desire so many Town fans had to get rid of him, he’s has a good few years at Bramall Lane.

Wish I was 36.

I was fit as a fiddle too.

Teddy Sheringham did OK at 39 at a far higher level.

I know I know, injuries and all that and it's a long way etc.

I’m sure he’s easily good enough for League One.

Question is more whether we’re good enough for him. He’s got a couple of years of top-level football left so he should go where he’ll get the most out of it. If it’s us, great.

I really think we need to move away from old players on the way down who might ‘do a job’. That includes McGoldrick. He wouldn’t come back here anyway.

I’ve always felt that for any team not in the PL an old, experienced player does no harm on two conditions. They had to have been a top player (tbf, DM played in the PL) and playing the position they can influence from the most, whilst staying fit with ageing legs. That’s Centre Half. Think Mowbray, Wark and back in the day Dave Mackay playing as sweeper at Derby under Clough.

If you could guarantee he would stay fit then yes.

In the real world, no thanks.

Suspect he will find a club in the Championship for one last season.

Truly impaired.
