Hull would be a pretty uninspiring move for him really. I would imagine he could do better in the Championship than them.

Truly impaired.

Anyone in the Champ bar maybe the newly promoted teams will be a bigger move than us. Can't imagine he'd consider us after last season.

As said yesterday, ridiculous to even debate the prospect of Twine joining Town. Much like Crooks and Town last season. We're not shopping in that ballpark yet, largely due to league status rather than financial muscle.

New owners injecting cash and backing their manager - would imagine Hull have aspirations of being at top half of the Championship again.

Anyone in that bracket will be a bigger attraction than a L1 side.

Can't compete with that figure in this League - and rightfully so.

Think it could be early stage of multiple bids coming in for him in Championship.

We can compete, as could prob match their wages with a big increase on promotion so a potentially better package - personally wouldn't want to but it an be done.

I don't think that there will be that much Champ interest, jst don't see the top end clubs buying him and most outside top 8 don't have a pot to p155 in

I'm still not convinced on his all-round game. Excellent striker of a dead ball but for a forward that might not always be enough.

Unless Hull tempt anyone else out there's a good chance he'll go there I would think.

You can't compete with £3M on a transfer fee when you are League 1 club. Sides in the Championship will offer big increase in promotion clauses should they be promoted to the PL, so that's slightly irrelevant.

A large bulk of Championship clubs throughout the league will of course be showing interest in a 22 year old who has just delivered 20 goals and 13 assists, it would be crazy to think otherwise.

20 goals and 13 assists in a single season suggest his all-round game is probably good enough for Ipswich Town.

League One clubs have wage restrictions, you get two free hits after relegation, and once you blow that your spending is restricted by the rules, which was the case last season.

But the owners get to pump money in to cover that though. It's not the same as the Championship FFP. We just have to show we actually have the money, so the owners can pump in what they want at this level as long as we can show we have the money and are not spending what we don't have.

And certainly not after what happened with Fraser. Must be a big doubt for someone who played with him.

But agree, he will be Top-12 Championship level next season.

The difference between Fraser and Twine for me is vast.

Twine looks like a player that will go to the top. Fraser was a slow player with an eye for a pass that would look very good at this level in a team that played to his strengths, which we never did.

I never looked at Fraser before we signed him and thought destined for the top of the Championship let alone the top.

Twine to me gives me the same vibes Bowen did at Hull. Was obviously he'd end up in the Premier League but never thought he'd be in the England side a year or two later.

And a promotion pay rise in an Ipswich L1 contract to come in in the Championship is worth much more than a Hull one to come in in the PL.

Agree there is a quality gap, but Fraser's stats before he moved here were superb for L1.

And obviously a 6 year age gap, so there is more potential there for Twine.

The good thing in all this is a number of teams, who I assume will be our competition, are being weakened

We can, but would we want to with the potential rumblings it might cause with the more senior players in our ranks already?

£3m and significant wages on one player doesn't seem a very Ipswich thing to do under Ashton.

In theory, we could do a lot - depending on how much investment GC20 have in mind for playing staff. Transfer fees do not count as turnover in L1 and L2 and Ownerloans are also not included in the turnover calculation.

Wages is the only real scrutiny it seems with a requirement for the wage budget to be under 60% of turnover.

When you don't generate the income that a Championship side does, then you can't spend as much on outgoings. You can't spend £3M+ on a player when you operating in League 1. It's fantasy football manager stuff.

There has to be a level of realism, and when you are a League 1 side, you can't compete with sides higher up the pyramid spending £3M on players.

He signed Massengo for Bristol City from Monaco for £7m, so I suspect he'd be happy to splash the cash here if the deal/player was right.

Bowen should be nowhere near the England team, the last 4 games proved that
