A mixed bag 22:09 - Nov 7 with 4272 views | Smithy | Furious with that first half performance, too many strolling around imo, upped it second half and got job done. Some worrying traits, Ladapo is so poor in front of goal, gets in all the right positions but can't finish for toffee. Edwards flatters to deceive didn't really influence the game at all. Donacien look really out of form, which is hard to explain. Ball was very poor and Jackson again did nothing. We do seem to struggle when sides set up to frustrate and nullify us, do we not expect it?? Positives, Burgess look ready to come straight back in, KVY proved he can still play and Cameron Humphreys is going to be a star, while Morsy is just Morsy, just streets ahead of anyone else. My biggest bug bear though is why do we constantly try and walk the ball in the net, it is so frustrating!

A mixed bag on 22:47 - Nov 7 with 3504 views | mattyhollandsirish | It's all about opinions and you're certainly entitled to one, but how anyone could be furious with the first half display is beyond me. We completely dominated the entire game (as we should) and should have been out of sight at half time and probably had a penalty.

A mixed bag on 23:39 - Nov 7 with 3309 views | Matt_Netherlands | And don’t even get me started on the lack of goal celebrations! No knee slides, no shirts off over the heads?! Are the players taking this competition seriously or what?! A bit of passion wouldn’t give a miss! A couple of high fives and a cuddle does not constitute a goal celebration. Sort. It. Out.

And had clearly learned our lesson from the Charlton game - made sure to keep possession in the last 10 mins. [Post edited 8 Nov 2022 2:59]

A mixed bag on 10:03 - Nov 8 with 2781 views | Sawtrich | I can see where the OP is coming from, the first half hour especially wasn't a pretty watch imo. It's a bit like when I have to go to the in laws for dinner, reluctantly turn up, start off morose, slowly warm up after a couple of drinks and say all the right things for appearances sake but ultimately it's a forgettable experience. The magic of the Cup is long gone and there's no satisfaction in beating part timers, but we were in a no win situation and managed to get out without embarrassment so let's just move on.
A mixed bag on 10:04 - Nov 8 with 2762 views | clive_baker | I don't know what people expected tbh. Wet and heavy pitch, a bit of rotation from us, home sides biggest game in their history and all of their players running through walls live on the telly. We missed a few chances 1st half, perhaps should've had a penalty, but ultimately fitness told in the end and we turned the screw in the last half an hour and ran out comfortable winners. It pretty much went to script IMO.

I was a bit surprised they did not sort their right side out as i felt a bit sorry for their right back having to defend against Edwards and a rampant KVY .

A mixed bag on 10:39 - Nov 8 with 2617 views | RobTheMonk | TWTD seems to have become a place where the unpopular opinion is the equivalent of punching someone's Nan. Smithy, for what it's worth, I found the first half to be lackluster too. The pitch obviously played a part of that, but we had no intensity about us. Disagree regarding Edwards. He was having a go and getting into good positions. Jackson just runs around a lot and presses like a maniac. Useful to tire out opposition but he lacks a little finesse. As soon as Humphries moved central, we started moving it much, much quicker and that's because Humphries was doing the good old Pep style of 'Take the ball, Pass the ball'. The first half was poor but were you furious? Or did you understand it was always going to be scrappy and like that? Only the fans talk about going there and winning 6-0 etc. They players and management know it's not going to happen.

A mixed bag on 11:08 - Nov 8 with 2525 views | only_one_sir_bobby | I get people are allowed their own opinion, but some opinions really do confuse me. Furious? Why? We controlled the game entirely. Bracknell players' biggest game of their lives, were never going to be able to keep it up for full 90 (hard enough for fully professional League 1 players to maintain focus when we control games like that, let alone part timers). We stayed patient, professional and through to the next round without any dramas (not something we've been able to say much for the past decade or so). All strikers miss chances, if not for a couple of decent saves, Freddie would have had one or two more. And I don't agree at all with your Edwards remark...he and KVY looked a constant threat. I'd also query your remark about struggling "when teams set up to frustrate and nullify us"....we've scored in a all bar one league game this year, which suggests we do eventually break those teams down

No, furious was probably the wrong way of putting it. Frustrated? Yes. Thinking we could/should do better? Yes. We weren't at the races during that first half.

I disagree the first 20 was a mess, ball probably in the air for 15 of those, after that we took control, created 2 or 3 decent chances that we didn’t take and had a good shout for a penalty.

I think part of it is that we've now got standards as a team. For too long we languished under the Paul's. Now we have someone that looks like they know what they're doing so the expectation is higher.

Sorry about that. It wasn’t the dog. I was so furious I lost control and couldn’t make my front door. I’ll clear it up when I get a chance.

Likeise with one of my neighbour's 4 cats' stinking pile on the drive which my dog found & tried to eat on returning from our walk. Took me an extra 15 mins afterwards trying to find it with torch in the dark before I stepped in it, a few leaves had blown over & part-covered it
