Ipswich had had a big win over Morecambe in midweek and have only lost once at home in League One all season.
Burnley are on a different level at the moment, though. They are five points clear at the top of the Championship after winning eight league games in a row.
They dismantled Premier League side Bournemouth in the last round, and I have a feeling they will do the same to Ipswich too.
Sutton's prediction: 0-4

I think the time that Butch (with his hands in his pockets) put him on his arse scrambled the poor little budgie's brain cell a bit. Either that or he can't see through his tears.

A fair assessment. Burnley are cruising the Championship and are a very solid unit. We’re very much the underdogs.
Indeed. Sutton is a budgie with no good word to say about us, but the truth is Burnley are in great form at the top of the Championship and we are on very ordinary form in League 1. It is a match Burnley should comfortably win.
The magic of the cup means there is always a chance of an upset, but should we win it would be that. I am hoping for a good game of football and a chance to gauge ow big the gulf is albeit that I also expect both sides to make quite a few changes.

That's a good point but if we were playing Norwich he would probably still predict a 4 nil away win and they are nowhere near Burnley's level this season or us playing any middling Championship team for that matter.
It would be great if we could prove him wrong and shut the smug tvvat up for a bit.

Although he's Norfolk to the bone and does enjoy winding Town fans up, he's actually a Forest fan.

He might well be right and we take a hammering on Saturday. Burnley are PL next year and in form. A good team.
What is wrong is the relish with which he delivers his predictions. I’ve no problem with him loathing this club, but given he’s paid to be a BBC pundit, a little effort in disguising the hate now and again wouldn’t go amiss.
Witless pillock.

Grrr Sutton...enjoyed the twitter jibbing after the Rotherham game where he predicted a similar demise.
Lazy prediction, a team romping towards the EPL versus a top L1 team...0-4.
It's going to be a very tough game, but equally it's a cup game, nothing for us to fear and a good test as to where we are. I'd expect Burnley to give some players a rest, plus we'll probably do similar. League is everything innit?
Dare to dream, cup surprises happen all the time...

His shameless winding up of us Town fans is part of the reason he has that job! I actually quite enjoy it when he is on 606 with ABB, and will do so even more next season when we hand the budgies the hiding they have long deserved

Indeed, ABB always fights his corner well. Sutton is a professional wind up merchant, he performs the role well, is generally a good listen and has been very vocal and consistent of better rules regarding concussion protocols.
All that said I loved that clip when Butch wiped him out on BT.

In the end it will be who is most clinical on the day. Our gk might actually have work to do for one! We will have a strong side, they are unlikely to take it too lightly but they are not unbeatable. Should be a good test and will help visualise the real gap.

Stopped clock and all that. Yes he hates us and is a bit of a tit; for once though he’s made a sensible comment. Whether that proves to be right, we’ll have to see. I suppose it depends on Burnley. If they field a full strength side it could be a tough afternoon.
I think he predicted something similar in the last round too, it would be nice to prove him wrong but I think Burnley would have to rest most of their team for us to have much of a chance...

They are likely to be playing some new signings who havent played together before. If they do that then gelling issues will aid us. 3-0 Town.
