I’m going to Wembley on Saturday 20:21 - May 10 with 3817 viewsclive_baker

For the National League playoff final.

Who should I be supporting? Cookie, Clements & Dobs? Or Notts County who deserve promotion given the season they’ve had.

I’m sitting with the Notts County fans so that’ll probably sway it.

...as well.

Chesterfield really do have a massive Town connection now.

Still want Notts to win though.

Notts County. Nothing against Chesterfield or any of those people but Notts County deserve promotion.

Although so do Sheff Wed and I won't be cheering them on so who knows.

That sounds a bit dull. Any chance you can endorse him getting as pissed as a fart and supporting whoever’s fans are daft enough to humour him?

I think so. If there was a god and all that. Notts County were so far ahead, it’d be a travesty for them to miss out. I can’t find a reason to dislike them either. I wasn’t too fussed about Cookies shouty approach to management, but I won’t hold that against Chesterfield; just thought NC deserve to be up based on what they’ve done so far. They used to be a big club too - I remember them being in the Panini albums when I was a nipper.

Had I not been living in Ipswich or anywhere particularly affiliated to a professional team back in the 80s, I reckon I'd have easily started following Notts County. Something iconic about those panini images of Jimmy Sirrell, John Chiedozie etc.

Jimmy Sirrel with teeth to die for (if you’re aiming for the Sir Les Patterson look). TWTD.

Their fans have been through decades of crap; they need to be back in the league and then push on. They should be a Championship club at least, and seem to be getting things in line to get there.

Notts had a bit of a takeover about a decade ago didn't they? Spent a bit of cash, got Sven in etc. What happened there?

This season has me thinking about the playoffs and how tight it is between 2nd and 3 but how massive it is between 3rd and 6th.

I think that teams who finish 3rd should go straight to the final where as the last spot is contested by single quarter final game between #4 vs #7 and #5 vs #6 with #4 and #5 playing at home for finishing higher.

The winners of those two games play a two leg tie to face #3 at Wembley

I'd like to see the ex-Ipswich contingent do well for Chesterfield - but would feel very unjust if Notts County don't make it!

Fcuk Chesterfield. Got lucky against Bromley and don't deserve it.

Think you'll see a comfortable Notts win.

Yeah, getting my football fix in before the close season, especially with a summer of no international tournament. Carrow road was pants though, dreadful game. At least it was free and the beers were cold, I’m hoping for a better game Saturday as I’ve paid £36 for it.
