Do we want the club to put on a parade through the Town and a party on the Cornhill if we get promoted? (Or just if we win the league)
Always thought it was a bit ‘tinpot’ to celebrate getting promoted back to the Championship like that but promotions don’t come around often and it has been a sh!te few years down here!
…and besides, we can only have one more promotion after this anyway 
(I just hope we don’t get that little trophy for coming second)
Also I’m nervous as f’ck for tomorrow and all of the possible end of season permutations keep swirling round my brain!

Reluctant to go into this yet but if we go up, by whatever means, then of course we should. It's been so long, it's a massive moment for the community as well as the club, give everyone — not just those who show up in the stadium every week — a chance to celebrate to the full. And hopefully to get a taste for more. |  |

I remember how much we took the piss about the scum getting promoted from league 1 and doing the open top bus. The bus parade jibes went on for ages that if we did the same it would surely be abit hypocritical.
That said, the new regime will have no idea about that and I’ve no doubt the players and staff deserve it. Suspect it’ll go ahead and the streets will be rammed. |  |

I do see why some think celebrating getting back to the championship is tinpot. But, the players and coaching staff deserve it for bringing so much enthusiasm and enjoyment back to the club. Be a good way to sign off the season - that’s if we finish top. |  | | |

At the risk of sounding like Roy Keane, no. Maybe for promotion from the Championship, but not league 1.
Some sort of community day at PR would suffice, especially if it can all be sorted for the public holiday (before the players disappear for summer break). [Post edited 17 Apr 2023 17:40]

I thought about this the other day and think it is the case that the budgies would find it hilarious, but I couldn't care less. It has been a very long, dark period and if we go up we shouldn't be ashamed to celebrate it because some trolls might laugh at us. Life is too short to worry about others. I thought we laughed at Norwich for having a parade when they lost the play off final.
I'd always thought I'd think it was poor to have a parade for getting out of L1 but the mood in the town/county is so upbeat I think it's nice for younger fans to see the Cornhill crammed with people and the flags etc. And something for the owners/management to enjoy. |  |

I doubt it. I think IF we won the league there will be some celebrations and recognition of the efforts in the end of season event, off on the holidays and then back to work to attack a season in the championship. I think that would be appropriate.
A league title would be great but I’m pretty relaxed about that. That’s the cherry on the cake, but the cake itself is promotion and that’s the bigger picture. I don’t even really like cherries. |  |

Nevertheless. I think a parade would be amazing for the town. A logistical nightmare so the council might not be keen, but I remember the one in 2000 being special when I was a kid.
What could work just as well, would be a concert type event somewhere like Christchurch park if that could be organised quickly enough. On stage interviews with players / staff, awards handed out, trophy presentation, live music / DJ - basically a bigger and more celebratory version of the fanzone. Could do it on the practice pitch and have a ballot for tickets (more weighted towards ST holders). |  | | |
