Odd one really. Came with lots of promise and off the back of a good loan spell with Birmingham. I agree he looked good initially, and probably wasn't the best environment to come into with so much change and under Cook. Subsequent loan moves haven't done much to revive his career, hopefully he gets fixed up somewhere and can kick on. |  | | |

Agree he's probably close to a deal elsewhere, hence agreeing to leave. Doubt we would've paid him much as I'm sure we could've loaned him out for the final year of his deal and recouped most of his salary if the alternative was costly. | | | |

He's too inconsistent even in games, looks good then you don't see him for 20 mins.
Right move for him and us, needs games and to settle down, not sure he will ever make it at a higher level though. |  | | |

Think it was more like 350k according to Stu Watson.
When you bring in 19 players in a scattergun approach not all of them are going to pay off. Infact it can actually be said that we did ok out of that complete rebuild and it could have gone a lot worse.
Wonder what a mutual termination entails. Does that just mean we paid up his contract in full or came to an agreement somewhere in the middle so that he is a free agent. Saving us a bit of cash as well as squad place. | | | |

Actually would be a good pick up for most League 1 sides on a free.
Needs a fresh start, needs a home, needs to play week in week out.

Yes you'll never have a 100% hit rate. For every Harper there's a Burns and for every Pigott a Ladapo.
I don't think there would be any value to us in paying up his whole final year. We might as well have kept him if that's the case and loaned him out to the highest bidder. Especially with it happening this early in the window, suggests to me that we've probably paid something to bridge a bit of the gap between what he would earn for the next 12 months by staying put and what he will earn elsewhere. I reckon when push comes to shove it's a pretty tidy sum. Taking into account a promotion rise, he will be lucky to be earning a third what he was on here I would think. Unless he's been willing to write off an amount to settle somewhere else. | | | |

Usually seems to mean that the player has lined up a move somewhere but with a lower salary - so you settle up approximately the difference between the two.

Don't think his head was ever in the right place here. Always looked a bit sluggish and clumsy to me. KM never ever fancied him. And he's had the chances on loan to give us a decision to make. As per El Miz..
That Col U game, was unfortunate for him and probably compounded any pressure he felt here..

He had a little cameo as a number 10 second half at Lincoln two seasons back, where I thought for the first time, I could see a bit in him.
But that was it really.
He never looked like a holding midfielder.
And yes I think as he didn't pull up any trees at Crewe or Exeter he may struggle to get a L1 side. |  |
