Dream scenario now (within the confines of realistic signings) 11:41 - Jul 13 with 3014 viewsAsa

Trusty, Surridge and Rak-Saki (loan)

Would probably cost us £4m - £5m in fees but what shape we’d be in then

Surridge or Hirst

Broadhead / Chaplin / Burns or Rak-Saki

Morsy / Taylor or Luongo

Davis / Trusty / Wolf / Clarke

Walton

I’d be very pleased with that.

Agree — although don't forget Edwards as an option, to my eyes his all-round game improved considerably at the end of last season and if we don't keep him you can be sure another Champ side will take the plunge. Like to see what he can do at least until January.

That's a very young back four. Think we will add some experience in that area.

Agreed. Put in some really solid performances throughout the season as well.

Changed games vs Pompey/Cambridge home and away/Morecambe away/Port Vale away

I struggle to think of many better players to have as an option off the bench especially you would think in the Championship when teams aren't camped in their own 6 yard box and he has a bit more space

I don't know much about Trusty, but do think we could do with a left sided defender and has good Championship experience.

Rak-Sakyi yes, definitely, if we can get it done. Will give us a great option.

I don't think we need Surridge now Hirst is a done deal. Perhaps a loanee to add depth up there but I'm happy with Hirst leading the line and Freddie challenging.

Keen to see the outs start to take shape as well. Humphreys and Baggott out on loan. Camara and Piggot in some capacity too. I would probably look to move Jackson as well personally, should we recruit Rak-Sakyi. And Evans personally, what with Morsy, Luongo, Taylor and Ball in the squad.

Leeds want Surridge if they don't get Piroe (which is looking likely) so we'll probably have to move on to someone else on our list of strikers, may be forced to look at someone like Dane Scarlett on loan (to just throw a name out there).

Would be a coup if we managed to get Trusty imo and not looking likely it would be one that would get done anytime soon in any case, much like Rak-Sakyi.

At least one more in while we still have a decent bit of pre-season left would be good.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

Trusty had a very good season at Birmingham and they have been keen to sign him permanently. If we have a chance then sign him up ! No-brainer.

I liked TJJ but there is a fitness concern with him. As I recall in that excellent interview he did a while back, going over his career he was listing injury after injury after injury.

So if the reports are true and we have a chance then it should be no-brainer.

He impacted games more and more as the season went on, whereas Harness, sadly, went the other way.

I still this TJJ is on the radar, with Hirst in the door, having someone like him with a bit more flexibility in where he can play will be a nice addition to the squad.

Agree on Rak Saki ....being able to rotate him and Burns would be a nice place to be in. Neither particularly proven at this new level, but I don't have any concerns about their ability to do it.

The third striker spot is a bit tricky. Ideally we want someone like TJJ who can be the third choice striker as well as the backup for Chaplin because we’ll struggle to give everyone game time otherwise. If we’re going for a marquee striker it would be great but difficult to see where Ladapo fits.

Apart from that, if we could get Trusty and Rak-Sakyi over the line it would be incredible. If they’re both available I could see a lot of interest from other Championship clubs.

Pretty sure if he'd completed the whole season injury-free he'd already be here permanently, possibly because we'd have done the deal in January.

Guess the injury concerns making us hold off a bit, he's had a few seasons in a row now he's only played half of it.

I'd personally like another TJJ loan until Jan with a deal in place to buy if he's proven his injuries are behind him. I think he's worth a risk.

Would agree with that. For me Cathcart comes in, Edmundson goes.

Trusty and Burgess plus Wolf and Cathcart gives a great blend of experience, youth and attributes. Plus balance as well as cover.

As long as the squad place is there to make that happen. You'd almost need to accept that he might not be available and if he is regard it as a bonus.

Edwards has a role play, imo. Can't see Broadhead going an entire season without a knock or two, given his history, he'll still need to be managed a bit, minutes wise.
Would like to see a versatile forward, in the TJJ mold, to add cover for AM/CF...
Trusty would be a sensational signing. Not holding my breath on that one. Would love it to happen, and would be a real statement of intent, if it did, imo.

I can't see us signing another out and out striker. Ladapo did well last season and someone else coming in would upset the squad harmony.

Someone like TJJ I'd be happy with who can cover a few positions, including striker.
