Which 'Portillo Moment' Are You Most Hoping For... 14:39 - Jun 21 with 6523 viewsTangledupin_Blue

...or looking forward to?

I'm hoping that Lizard Truss is beaten. Maybe wipe away that awful cavernous 'smile' she wears.

Also Rees Mogg of course...

And quite a few more.

Rees-Mogg for me. Hideous human.

I wonder if Truss will defect to Reform...

T Hunt, presumably. That will be nice. Yes to Sunak of course. I wonder when was the last time, if ever, an incumbent PM lost in a UK GE.

Not tory but I would also like to see G Galloway humbled.

It would be a first - no incumbent PM has ever lost their seat in a UK General Election.

Sunak certainly seems to be doing his best to change that, though.

Would they want her? Farage is hugely critical of the tories and I'm certain he'd be no fan of Truss.

Hunt and Rees Mogg hardly count as their demise is highly predictable, (though highly enjoyable too). I'd probably add Joey Mercer to that - he seems to be excelling himself as a card carrying member of the k*nt club atm.

So if it has to be a surprise, then I have to say any of Sunak, Coffey or Truss would be right up there. In terms of genuine unpleasantness I think Coffey takes it so come on Coastal Suffolk - be sure to flush her.

It’s a shame the likes of Gove, Cash, Leadsome, Zahawi, Halfcock and Raab are all bottling it and giving up. They deserve a metaphorical kicking at the ballot box.

Makes me laugh when commentators say 150 Tories would be better for democracy than 50. Nope, still 49 too many for me.

Pretty much all of the Tories.

Every single one gone is a bonus really.

If I could pick just one though, Truss. How she has the nerve to hang around I really don't know.

Truly impaired.

Labour are hot favourites in Suffolk Coastal. Oddschecker had them at 1/2 last time I looked so hopefully the giant turd will be washed away.

Jenkyns is standing in Leeds (think it's Ed Balls' old seat) - she made the news as she has put 2 pictures of Farage on her campaign leaflets.

Edit - good call on Patel and Gullis

I've always thought it would be funny for a party to get elected into power but their leader didn't win their constituency.

I think Patel and Bednoch are pretty safe and also likely to be the frontrunners in the forthcoming leadership contest.

I contributed to the Portillo removal, as I was at the time living in Enfield Southgate which had been his constituency.

The more Conservatives who lose the seats, the more likely quite a few will go to Reform. Even after the last 14 years, I’m not convinced that’s a good thing.
