If we win that, would it count as an end to the "58 years of hurt"?

The only good thing about it is that the lower teams get to play each other and actually compete in a mini league. Although the way we're going we'll be down with them soon.

Football would be coming home - like quietly slipping your shoes off in the hall and padding gently up stairs to bed.

"Although the way we're going we'll be down with them soon"

After 2 consecutive Euro Championships finals, and a World Cup Quarter Final in the last 3 major tournaments? What do you mean by "the way we're going.."?

No. It’s a tinpot filler that presumably makes a bit of money but is otherwise a waste of everybody’s time.

Up there with Norwich’s Mr Clutch trophy win.

A pointless meaningless competition.
Much the same as the pointless plastic UEFA cup West Ham won.

Or the ‘friendship trophy’.

On a serious note though its ridiculous that FIFA/UEFA are constantly digging up new tinpot ways to play more internationals - be it letting sh1te teams qualify for expanding tournaments, or new competitions you’d be embarrassed to win. The outcome is ever more game time and demands on players, all to fill FIFA and UEFA’s corrupt coffers.

In the end the quality of the product decreases because players are either to knackered, or can’t be @rsed to turn up for another pony international game. They don’t give a shining sh1te about the fans or the players - I wish clubs, and national FA’s would stand up to them.

Agree but unfortunately not meaningless and the fact we're in division B means we get a difficult WC qualifying group (50% chance of one of spain, germany, france, portugal) it would appear.

In fairness to the Nations League, it's replaced international friendly dates so it's not as though it's adding to game time.

I'm not an expert on the format for the Nations League, but pretty sure we can't win it after we got relegated from the top tier

We could win our group that contains ROI, Greece and Finland, but would then have to wait until 2026/27 before we could actually win the whole thing

Didn't realise that we couldn't win it.

Sometimes winning these competitions can lead to greater things:

Spain -2023 Nations League, 2024 Euro Champions
Ipswich- Innsbruck Cup 2023, Promotion 2024
Norwich- Dr Caecor Batista Trophy 1971, Division 2 Champions 1972, Football Shaped Ice Bucket Trophy to show that they won the Division 2 Championship 1972. Texaco Cup Runners Up Shield 1973.

In a Norwich City world it would be justification for 30 years of pilgrimages to the place where the glorious victory was confirmed.

To the rest of us…….meh.

Not a proper trophy in my opinion.
