Think we'll be okay for the 2 games. A lot of the senior U21s were playing at Bury at the same time as the game against Fortuna today. A lot of the forward players will rotate between being starters in game and finishers in the next. Midfield looks like it could be a challenge though. | |

He's just being honest. We need another 4-5 at least and I think 90% of fans knew this already purely by the number that have left and who will clearly move on. It's not a huge overhaul particularly. It's 2-3 more than we would probably have done if we had stayed in the champ.
We're not crazy light when come Monday Omari and Tuanzebe are also available. But we don't have huge depth to cope with any further injuries. I expect next 2 weeks we we will see 2-3 more in and then same again before window shuts. 5 more I reckon. 2-3 will still probably move on e.g. Ladapo. I think Harness and Al Hamadi will stay now and review again in Jan.
Interestingly Edmundson looks in with a shout of moving ahead of Woolf. Too early to say but interesting he's being selected as a partner for Greaves. I think he better athleticism is potentially seen as required for prem. Axel could have a say as well. | |

I said I felt he would be sold. And KM saying they're having a look at him through pre season in different roles just doesn't sound like he's been the player KM felt he was getting.
I don't think Taylor will work as anything other than a middle attacking midfielder. So if that's the case. Then we definitely need 2 new cms as we've lost two at the end of the season and now can exclude taylor.

Good to see pushback from the manager on the strange ideas people have that we don't need to add much more and we don't need to add Premier League experience.
Obviously we wouldn't do things like put Harness at RAM or play Ayinde/Barbrook at all unless absolutely necessary but if nothing else today reiterated the point that a couple of injuries in the same area of the pitch has us looking a little thin.
Whether he was reminding Ashton there are important things to get on with that aren't giving himself a pat on the back about how his various construction projects are coming on or not I'm not sure, but a little public comment from the main man certainly gets everyone on the same page. |  |

I think 7 or 8 is not far wrong. When you are turning down possibliities such as Sarmiento and Moore, that means you're expecting to sign better players than them rather than settling for Harness and Ladapo. |  |

It’s pretty obvious to all we are short on players of the right standard, not helped by players missing or held back through injury or other reasons.

That would be about where I am I think.
LB as cover for Leif, RB or RCB (if I'm being brutally honest I'd like an upgrade on Woolfenden and a specialist RB leaving Johnson as a versatile squad player), 2 in CM (1 definite starter), LW (or left sided 10 which I assume will be Szmodics), starting striker to complete with Hirst. Maybe a keeper if Walton wants to go.

It's just KM stating what is clear to everyone. I don't think MA needs any more motivation or pushing to get the players in. It just takes time. A manager signaling the CEO or owner in a press conference is a sign of an unhealthy relationship. I am sure KM is very upfront with MA and KM is just keeping the fans informed.
