Personally don't think it happens now, can't see what takes 1.5 days to resolve in paperwork and if its the agents terms, if we were happy it could be fixed quickly to drag on seems strange. Maybe if the agent wants more we have gone back to Villa to lower price to cover those costs and Villa also discussing with agent! I suspect for PSR reasons Villa are keen to sell so want a deal to happen with some club.

Sounds like agent holding us/and or Villa to ransom.
I'd question player's judgement in sticking with that agent first of all; & then listening to him over McKenna (if agent is holding out for more dosh or extras). |  |

Think people just need to calm down to be honest. There is obviously some delay but to go from defo coming to some saying don't think it's happening is a massive overreaction as frustrating as it is.

I’d like to agree with you, but something doesn’t feel right about this now.
1. Why should JP’s paperwork be more complicated that other players. We’ve signed loads, none seem to take this long
2. His agent has form for playing silly baggers.
3. Its unusual for a club to sell a player after just 6 months
4. Dick Emery’s comments about him going were somewhat mysterious the other day
5. KM’s comments were unusually vague in the presser
All adds up to making me doubt it will happen, and even if it does it’s not a great way to start at a club is it. |  |

He looks a great talent but can't say I'm that fussed. Would much rather have CM, Striker or CB enforcements.

Was always very unlikely to be available for Sunday as the medical was on Thurs and registration would have to have been all sorted Friday for weekend game.
I would imagine there is an element of financial details to work out across Villa and therefore Hull payments as he was only transferred in August, and that was a reasonably complex transaction due to the way that the calculations had to be done because of the sell on discount etc.
Add to that the fact that because he has not necessarily asked for the transfer but Villa have decided to sell he would likely be due any part of the Villa contract relating to annual bonus/loyalty payments, that is probably being negotiated.
I think everyone is always thinking the worst, but in reality it’s only been 4-5 days. [Post edited 11 Jan 14:28]
