Hope it is buzzing tonight 08:45 - Jan 16 with 5137 views | SomethingBlue | Surely every member of our fanbase now understands that it's there for us. Quite something that we could lose by a goal tonight and remain outside the bottom three – with Wolves' following couple of games just as hard as ours. So hopefully we can really go for it. Feels a shame that we'll have to try with a pretty light attack and it'd be really nice to see Hutchinson on that teamsheet in some capacity. It's a really, really difficult game but should be a belter and any kind of positive result puts us in a fantastic position in my opinion. Could not have foreseen us being out of the bottom three this quickly four weeks ago so what a boost it'd be to capitalise. [Post edited 16 Jan 8:48]

I know we're light, but no good risking him and potentially losing in for longer than we need to.

I know exactly what you mean – just have to trust that the pros know best though, and if they deem him good for half an hour tonight it could just make the difference. Certainly wouldn't want him rushed back ahead of time.

With the lightness of numbers in the 10s (in terms of subs not starters), I'd say Hutchinson's availability dictates whether we go 3 or 4 at the back (nominal, of course). I'd be tempted to stick with 3 at the back and two 10s (probably Broadhead and Clarke in a fluid configuration, even allowing Clarke to come to the right for a look-see) which has served us so well, even though it's a winnable home game. Liked the look of Godfrey marauding from advanced RB last time, which maybe negates the wide right 10 position (Burns) a little. Wouldn't mind a draw at all tonight. Consolidates 17th and allows time for new players to bed in and Hutch to return later with additional rest.

If he's fit and available he should start. I'd rather he played tonight and then missed Sunday tbh, especially as Philogene will be available. I think Brighton are there for the taking if we get into them like we did Chelsea and don't show them too much respect.

Yup, if he's deemed fit and not in significant danger of exacerbating any lingering injury, it changes everything for me. Entire approach to this game is based on Hutchinson's availability. Maybe I've constructed a bit of a hill there :).

You’d bring Muric back in over Walton at this point?

Additionally to Muric in for Walton, why are we switching away from a back three which has worked so well for us recently? And what's happened to Davis? Have I missed something?

Hope it is buzzing tonight on 11:05 - Jan 16 with 2657 views | LankHenners | Slight concern that this match has now been, to some degree, labelled 'winnable' due to games coming up and how well we've played in the last couple. If we don't start well or Brighton have prolonged spells of possession/chances there's a potential it becomes like the Palace game where the crowd sits on its hands and only makes noises to moan. Hopefully the excitement of what a win would do is harnessed properly and we get an atmosphere like the one against Chelsea. Have a feeling we'll see more of Hutchinson than many might be expecting - McKenna has a habit of being coy and underplaying players' fitness levels. Hope we do anyway as, as you say, we could do with the options in the attacking areas.

Really tough game but sure we will be confident we can get something out of it. Three points and a win would be massive.

Brighton haven't won in eight, we need to get after them immediately and make them feel nervous Disagree, we've come unstuck everytime we've ignored what's made us progess and then gung ho. Brighton remain dangerous, we give them an inch and they will make us pay. Just play the game the same way we have approached the last 3 imo

Yes, it was really flat against Palace and one of those occasions where the players really needed a little help from the crowd at times. As you've said, we will almost certainly have lengthy spells out of possession tonight and people will need to be patient. Hopefully we can come out quickly and set a tone for the evening.

It still feels ludicrous that we're talking about Brighton being winnable when it wasn't long ago we felt worlds apart from them. But in the context of the Premier league, we've only got 18 games left and if you rank them in terms of 'winnability' this probably sits in the top 1/3 given its at home and they aren't in the best form themselves, whereas we are (relatively speaking). We've taken more points in our last 6 than they have, and I would argue we've had tougher fixtures. Being objective about it man-for-man we're not favourites, but that's also true for most of our games this season. Agree with your point about the crowd though, need to be up for it from the start and shouldn't underestimate our part in it. The players feed off it, and vice versa. Chelsea was a great example, it was electric, we might not have got that version of a pumped up Delap if the crowd sit there expectantly. [Post edited 16 Jan 11:18]

Not sure we should go all tottenham on them, but we absolutely need to not let them settle. If we start like we did at Arsenal and just sit back and let them have the ball, they'll just grow in confidence. Really i just meant we shouldn't be passive, we need to be high energy from minute 1.
