Is anyone in the Championship going to pay that? Can't see it personally.

If he does go I think it’ll only be on loan anyway.

That feels very optimistic, but I will be sad to see him go. Given links and some of our business there may be some pretty unceremonious goodbyes to some club heroes in the next few weeks.

Id say that was about right but I doubt there's many championship clubs who could afford that.

Suspect that £2m includes promotion bonus, Premiership appearances etc.

I'd be wanting more towards £10m. Surprised if we offload him now though.

It is quite difficult to judge the value of a lot of our players because there is only quite a small market for our players and that is promoted clubs and Championship clubs with parachute payments. Broadhead has looked good in the Premier League, but has not looked like a player the teams above us in the league would be interested.
It also depends on how left is long on his contract.
I'd imagine about 4 million if we sold him now, but who would buy him and we probably don't want to sell him.

What sort of fee would we get for Braodhead? on 11:35 - Jan 23 with 3641 views_clive_baker_

Unlikely. The target market feels pretty small for clubs that would a) want him and see him as an upgrade on what they've got already, and b) be able to afford that sort of money.

Leeds maybe? But would they want or need him when they've got Gnoto, Solomon, James etc. already?

Burnley? Birmingham at a push?

At £3m - £4m the market probably widens to the likes of West Brom, Sunderland, Bristol City which seems to be their ceiling over in recent times.

I really hope we don't sell him as he's a joy to watch. Might be controversial in some circles and it's a small sample size however I think he's looked more at home in the prem than Chappers has.

I really wouldn't sell him. He's shown in the games that he can cope at this level. A longer run and we'll start to see some return. Feel like we just need a settled front four or five system now which has paid off so well over the last two seasons.

Yep, I put something on here a few weeks back about the 'promotion heroes' and it really is just the 10 outfield players who were the full part of the journey from February 22 until My 24 - feels like the endings will be something strange for most of them

I don't think that's controversial, Chaplin's looked miles off it especially earlier on in the season. In his defence he did show some signs of improvement and put in a few decent performances, and started to show some 'numbers'. Made a huge contribution with the opening goal at Wolves and played really well there, scored the opener against Bournemouth too. Injury seemed to come at the worst time for him.

Don't think we have seen any unceremonious departures. Ir's pretty obvious that with 28 senior players that we will have to lose three players. Ogbene I suppose will be de-listed so AAH and possibly Clarke may go. As I said with Edmundson's situation he's the one who has come out of it o.k. as he will be paid by Town until the end of the season if he stays and will also be free to negotiate terms for any new club or he goes for a fee and gets a contract with a new club. Personally if half a mill was offered I can't really understand why we are asking for more. But then when you consider we are forking out 20 million plus for six players we need to get the maximum back. But then we might get nothing.

Financially Eddy will be fine, but he's potentially now not going to play any competitive football until August when he's in the prime of his career. Its a real shame for him how that's worked out, I really hope we get a deal done with Boro and he slots back in to their promotion push as he's a good bloke. And as you say, £500k doesn't feel unreasonable to me given his contract situation.

He shouldn’t be going anywhere, he’s been arguably our best attacker other than Delap.

As said above, can’t see a Championship club paying the sort of fee we’d want, so if he does go, it’ll be on loan. (Was told before he started getting back into the side that he was told he could leave in January).

I would be both surprised and disappointed if we lost Broadhead - always equate him with a turnaround in our fortunes with that freekick against Sheff Weds. Plus he has been genuinely impressive and appeared more than comfortable in his PL games lately...

The other thing for fridge is the last 2 seasons he’s had to sit out the last part of the season with his foot in a boot, so I’m sure with him being in good fitness this time around, he’d want to be playing I would imagine.

I think Broadhead's skillset lends itself more to the Premier League than Chaplin's. When we are playing on the counter, we need players who can dribble past people, which Broadhead is more suited to, as is Hutchinson. Chaplin's greatest strength is his ability to spot a pass, which we have seen occasionally this season such as the one that set Burns on his way against Wolves, but Premier League teams rarely give Chaplin's teammates enough space for a pass like that to be on. Secondly, when he's in the right position on the edge of the box and shoot is unstoppable in league one but Premier League teams just won't give him the time and space to do that. Chaplin is very different to our other attacking players so I would definitely keep him as an option. I think he would be ideal for the game against Southampton, if he's fit, but I definitely wouldn't play him against Liverpool.

They'd all laugh at me if they knew what I was trying to do. To create a new strain of super-wine in half-an-hour with a fraction of nature's resources and a FOOL for an assistant. 'Bernard Black, he's mad,' they'd say, 'he's insane, he's dangerous.' Well I'll show them! I'll show them all!
