Let’s let go of this. If they try to relegate City they will tie them up with litigation so, if it helps anyone, it’ll be next season - probably Leeds.

If that happened. Wouldn't town be able to do similar if we were indeed the 18th pace finishing side but relegated whilst they await appeals. Etc

Everton and Forest points deduction was applied there and then in season they were performing in.

This is why the decision is timed to be announced in March so it can be enforced in the 2024/2025 season

Either way we need to step it up to finish ahead of Leicester which based on our recent performances will be a stretch.

Not that Leicester have looked like winning of late either.

If we get out of this because Manchester City are given a huge points deduction we’ll be the least deserving team in the division next year.

Yep, last 5 league games they have acquired 3x as many points as we have.

Yet somehow both they and Southampton have won a league match in 2025.

Yep, but they beat a Spurs side with Son in it.

We just let him run riot on Saturday, and he’s been woefully out of form since November.

We also let a dreadful Southampton mug us.

We’re no better than them and it’s irrelevant anyway.

Man City aren’t taking a relegation place this season because they’re legal representation could even leave it to the YTS kids to thoroughly outwit the PL bods.

Can see the PL bottling it and starting them on something like -30 next season which they’ll make up and avoid relegation

There's as much chance of Manchester City being relegated due to points deductions as Kier Starmer is calling a snap general election next week. If they had any inkling that the cases would not go their way, they wouldn't have obligated themselves to that massive, decade-long, Haaland contract. They are as safe as houses.

In an "ideal" world Leicester and Manchester City would have points docked, however, they have already let Leicester off and will let City off too.

It won’t happen because we’re just not that lucky but imagine we stay up because of a Man City 60 point deduction.

I genuinely think I’d cream myself upon hearing the news

I keep thinking that but Maguire tends to know his stuff. Also, I'm sure someone on here said they knew a legal bod who had given the impression that it was going to be dealt with very seriously. I can't remember the sources though.

Would be nice.

But that article is complete speculation.

And also assumes they’ll be found guilty.

And doesn’t take into account the inevitable appeal if they were.

It won't be anywhere near enough to relegate them.

We're going down because we won't muster over 30 points, that's where we are on this.

Manchester City will not be relegated this season.

Kier Starmer will not call an election next week.

There is no difference, we will not stay up because of a City points deduction because we wont scrape 30 ourselves.

We have to move on, the mistakes have been made, its what happens in the summer that matters.
