Man United to build 100k stadium on 09:30 - Mar 11 by giant_stow
Hope the govt said no to chipping in.
Highly unlikely. His companies have been given hundreds of millions of taxpayer support in the past, so this will be no different. Some of that is in the form of loans, but you can bet that the terms will work for him. And you van bet the risk sits with the public money and not with him.

Burnham will want to fund as much as possible as it’ll tie into his Bee Network and allow more development of infrastructure.
The government were being grilled on housing development this morning on the BBC. I suspect they’d see it as a great opportunity to regenerate and develop the old housing stock around there, spread the concentration of high rises out of the city centre a little too.
I’m sure the impact on traffic while they do all this will be negligible too!

Not really true as most people who live in Manchester support United.
They were the biggest club in London and surrounds during the 1990s and 2000s pre-Chelsea, saw more of their shirts there than you ever did in the North West! Even Ipswich had thousands of the glory hunting sh ts.

RE public funding, I think this will only relate to elements that enhance the public offering in the area, i.e. a new tram line/station etc. Been debunked that they will 'fund' the stadium.
I live nearby and the area is desperately in need of help. There's zero reason to visit OT aside from matchday. If you look at what did City did to the area around the Etihad, this has the potential to be transformative.
However. It does look like a circus tent. If that's truly *the* design I cannot see it ageing well at all.
