Respond with solutions not downvotes please but 22:06 - Jun 26 with 2380 views | Blue_Heath | Given we have lost Delap and likely Hutchinson assuming we go back up how are we going to be stronger than last season where we were miles off where we needed to be to stay up with our two best players gone? On another note so annoying Wolves and Brentford sold all their best players this season not last, I feel this gives one of the promoted three a better chance than we had.

Szmodics largely injured so hard to judge but will Greaves and O'Shea realistically get that much better? Agree on this season, this league won't be easy as we know. I think a lot boils down to one of the established sides having a really poor season to stand any chance of staying up.
Respond with solutions not downvotes please but on 22:18 - Jun 26 with 2101 views | Axeldalai_lama | We'll have this summer transfer window to spend the money recouped from those two, plus more, and then if/when we go up we get another £140 million. In the meantime time we develop Philogene, Clarke, o Shea Greaves, Ogbene, as well as all the others.

Szmodics had some truly awful games last season. Did not look prem quality. O'Shea and Greaves part of a defence that shipped goals and neither looked prem quality. We have just lost our only prem league quality defender. Our only premier league quality striker and are more than likely going to lose our only other premier league quality player. We basically over the course of the next three transfer windows have to replace our entire team.

The squad yes but in terms of a first XI I am not convinced, hopefully new signings will change that.

Wolves lost Neto and Kilman last summer, certainly 2 of their best players. No excuses.

Thats how we got players last time. Except this time we would need (slightly) fewer of them. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

If we replaced our whole team then at least the squad would be massively stronger than. It was this time round. Part of the problem this time was a complete lack of capable replacements, even putting aside our lack of absolute first team quality. So getting in another 10 next summer and having Philogene Clarke Ogbene Greaves Davis Johnson Hirst Szmodic etc etc as bench warmers after another promotion winning season can only do us good, surely?

There really is no point trying to analyse how ready we will be for the kick off of the 26/27 season. We don't even know our squad for the 25/26 season yet!!

Here's a thought - maybe he won't leave. Maybe quit worrying about it until it actually happens. And certainly there's no point at this stage worrying about how we might cope if we get back up to the Prem. Cross bridges when you come to them.

We don't know if we'll go back up, with or without him. Two years ago, we'd never heard of him and things worked out very well. I hope he stays but it's not worth doing hypotheticals, especially with so many unknowns
Respond with solutions not downvotes please but on 07:15 - Jun 27 with 1326 views | bsw72 | I would start with stop assuming that we are losing Hutchinson and we are going back up. Prefer to focus on what we know and have, and focus on the current season ahead.

We don't want a squad and management rebuild all at the same time. Players will come and go, as always. It's just business for those involved.

Annoying but there was an even worse case scenario that Man City got the deduction for this season just finished, putting them in the relegation zone, meaning Leicester survived and we still dropped along with Man City! That would have stung some.

Respond with solutions not downvotes please but on 12:25 - Jun 27 with 808 views | Vaughan8 | No-one on here can give you solutions, its none of our jobs. All we need at the moment is a squad that is good enough to go straight back up. If we go up, then we'll worry about players them. Lets be fair, we got quite a few good Hampionship players last season and tey definitely weren't Premier League ready. The gulf is massive and so you're unlikely to get Premier League ready players coming to us this season in the "hope" we go up next season.

But then Man City would have appealed, citing the soft treatment that Leicester got... It would have been the mother of all Lawyers' feasts!

Also we would not want to be competing with Man City in the Championship. That would be one of the automatic promotion spots gone straight away.

Our apparently only Premier League quality defender who spent almost half the season unavailable. Doesn't matter how good he is, he needs to actually be on the pitch to be any use.

I haven’t seen that model work for about a decade. One of those players you mentioned is in his 30’s and clearly won’t ever make that level, and yet I’d agree he probably is the best player we still have. The other two were SO far short, but are young and v good in the EFL. The he biggest issue is you can’t develop the level for the EPL in the EFL any longer. Even the cream, like Bowen, Somerville etc take years IN the prem developing alongside world class players. O’Shea and Greaves won’t become good enough playing against Oxford and Wrexham, sounds obvious, but our level now is so far off premier league. We missed a generational opportunity, and we continued to make the same mistakes . Ashton like control, status, and him my being capable of bringing in better people alongside, and delegating better, is exemplified by him being focussed on Pop concerts and boxing instead of the football! We don’t have the foreign talent I’d which is now ESSENTIAL…, we don’t have category one either, even when league one sides DO …, but Ashton has some great mug shots with Ed and Wards .., it’s 3 exactly why he’s 35 years and still not elite. Brentford Brighton Fulham Wolves…, they focus on data, value, global talent ID…, we are limited by Ashtons ego. Already the excuses are rolling in for a poor start…, hundreds of millions spent and our midfield is ONE 34 year old.., that tells the story of the last 12 months perfectly.
