I always wanted Rosenior should KM ever leave but I wonder now how damaged the Chelsea experience has left him not to mention some of the odd stuff he came out with the “respecting the ball” nonsense in particular. Plus he’s said to want a break anyway. Who do I want? Absolutely no bloody idea!

| I am alone in not being that enamoured on 11:44 - Jun 16 with 2512 views | Bellevue_Blue | This might be really harsh but I remember watching a Liverpool pre-season documentary and he came across as not a great person/ a bit power crazy. I also recently read Ian Graham's book, Liverpool's director of research for over a decade and he did not come across well. He continually fought against the senior leadership team on recruitment and was only really interested in signing players who had played under him at Swansea, hence the unsuccessful signings of Joe Allen and Fabio Borini in his time there. I think he's probably a different person to the man Ashton hired in 2009. [Post edited 16 Jun 11:46]

| I am alone in not being that enamoured on 11:48 - Jun 16 with 2458 views | SWLondonBlue93 | He is a good enough coach, but I can see his personality clashing with Ashton pretty quickly. Doesn't feel like a long-term appointment, but if he kept us in the league for a year or two, maybe that is enough? | | | |
| I am alone in not being that enamoured on 11:53 - Jun 16 with 2380 views | le2blue | He's Marmite for sure, but it would be a real statement to get him, a winner who started his managerial career with Ashton and was a mentor to Kieran. My Lesta mates hate him, but that is partly caused by the King Power craziness. I think he would be a great hire...but don't think we will get him, mainly Tax implications from his Saudi deal. | | | |

That's the point right now, you take on someone who can keep us in the league once or you employ a long term project and if they stay up it is a kind of bonus. As it stands appointing a manager is one thing but the more glaring issue is building the new team, when you go through the retained list you realise we are miles off and it would take a monumental effort to get a team that could win games at PL standards. I will only reveal what I have to say, upon completion of his first season as our manager, should he get the job. (niche reference)

| I am alone in not being that enamoured on 11:55 - Jun 16 with 2363 views | WD19 | I felt the same about Joe Royle and was totally wrong. He is an experienced coach who understands what is required. He has worked with our CEO before and has had more success than not in his career. He might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but would be a strong appointment under the circumstances…..once you see past the teeth and the baggage. | | | |

If you based your opinion on football alone we would all be pretty happy with his appointment.

We all, including me, thought that about Morsy though. Maybe for some, optimizing your life for tax isn’t as important as we think. This might be his last chance for a PL job also, which might be quite alluring vs playing in front of one man and his dog in a desert. Conceivably he could come and if it goes tits up go back out to KSA potentially. [Post edited 16 Jun 12:10]

agreed....he maybe just what we need right now to stay up/consolidate.
| I am alone in not being that enamoured on 12:32 - Jun 16 with 1972 views | jas0999 | It’s essential we bring in an experienced manager. I know everyone is sentimental about KM and look at taking an unknown and rightly celebrating his time at the club. But we were a league one side back then. Although not what people want to hear, but even KM struggled at PL level. We need experience this time round. | | | |

True - although I think Morsy had other motivations to go there outside of just tax
| I am alone in not being that enamoured on 12:49 - Jun 16 with 1818 views | breedalot | He's a good coach but not good manager. It was his undoing Liverpool and partly an issue at Leicester. If he's happy with someone else buying players, could be a good move. If not, then I think Tom Ince is probably an odd signing. [Post edited 16 Jun 12:49]

He gets on my nerves, and comes across a bit full of himself and smarmy, BUT I think hes good at what he does. He's an old mate of Ashtons, and we know Ashton likes to appoint his mates.

But Ashton knows him very well already, and they seem very similar characters. They have worked together before.

Would be very happy with his appointment!
