Coventry have a weird need to create rivalries with anyone and everyone, largely because the teams local to them have proper rivalries with other clubs and don't really care about Cov. |  | | |

We can be a bit pragmatic and not drag ourselves to their expected sensationalist responses....
Rudoni is 6'1", Enciso is 5'8" we've all commented on how physical this league is, so it's not a bad start.
Enciso is definitely faster and no arguments about his dribbling ability being way higher, but Rudoni is possibly a more rounded player at this moment in time.
Enciso is 22 though, so another year....he could be getting better and better, Rudoni could be in his prime this year though.

Very reminiscent of this place when we went up in 2024.
The feelings we had on the back of 2 good seasons thinking that the strength of having an settled and established team and a good manager would mean we needed to tweak/add to the squad but that we would be ok.
We all know how that went in the end.
I don't see a lot in the Coventry signings to make me think they have strengthened enough - even Hull have made some better signings. |  | | |

I think they will be surprised how difficult a few of the players they already have from last season find it. Until you see your team up against it first hand week in, week out you just don't appreciate the level needed.
I think they have made some good signings - Yirenkyi and Awoniyi in particular. Sidiki (much like Emersonn) it could go either way. It's quite fanciful to suggest players like Simms, Rudoni, Mason-Clarke, Thomas-Asante, Wright, Sakamoto, Eccles are all going to step up though. Realistically if two of them do so in a meaningful way that will be impressive. | | | |

It’s a bit odd. I’ve found Leicester to be very similar; a wish to somehow generate false rivalries or at least find another team to have a dig at. I’m generalising as it’s only some fans, but there seems to be something in it. Must be something in the water in the East Midlands lol | |

Is this a widespread thing, or just one or two Cov fans shouting for attention?
Strange one. I think they'll finish bottom below Hull if they go into it with the kind of attitude they appear to have. Means nothing either way though.
Love the Specials and quite keen on Lady Godiva's exhibitionism, but otherwise sort of nothing really, football wise anyway, over the years. Only marginally less boring a club than Nodge due to an FA Cup final appearance. |  |

Agree. Can't really blame them for being optimistic, good on them and they might as well enjoy the euphoria and excitement that comes with it as what's the point otherwise. They've waited a long time to be back in the PL and we know how we were feeling 2 years ago prior to Liverpool at home.
They'll be hopeful the momentum takes them a certain way, and keep to give those that got them there a decent shot, fair play on that. Can't help but feel they're in for a bit of a shock when reality hits but don't begrudge them having some optimism at this stage. |  | | |

I don't know why people care. I follow football closely but can't tell you anything about most players signed by clubs like Coventry and Hull. Yet if you believe online forums everyone has a scouting report on every player. Town or Coventry could be linked to a 17 year old Lithuanian playing in the third tier in Romania and 50%+ of both sites would be posting detailed opinions. I don't believe one Cov fan in 10 actually knows that much about Enciso.
