Ex-Town keeper Brian Murphy was in action for a QPR XI as they beat Carlsberg South West Peninsula Premier Division side Tavistock 13-0 last night. TWTD revealed that Murphy was interesting Neil Warnock’s newly-promoted Premier League side in May.

The Irishman was listed as a trialist on the teamsheet, although it’s understood the 28-year-old has already been offered a contract at Loftus Road.

Former Bohemians man Murphy turned down a new one-year Town deal on reduced terms prior to the final game of last season at Leicester.

Garv added 19:11 - Jul 19 The fact that so many fans criticize ALB because of one game really gets on my t*ts!! Before the Norwich game he never did anything wrong and then he has a fairly bad (not exactly the worst you'll ever see!) game and BECAUSE it was such a big game everyone slates him. No way is Murphy better than ALB, based on what we've seen, Murphy has always seemed too short to me, and the game that always comes to mind is Watford away last year when a header that Fulop and probably ALB would have caught easily went straight over him.
