That's ideology speaking. Actually, no. It's greed and libertarianism speaking. Conservatives on both sides of the Atlantic spend much more money than they bring in. And not for short-term or even long-term good but for private gain. The problem is that you people see even politics as a market.

Take a look at the red states in the US. Failing by almost every metric and finacially propped up by the blue states. This idea that Conservatives are good with the money is nothing more than a myth.

Absolute scum. The idea that government money is being wasted (on the poor when it can just as easily be siphoned off for private enterprise) is one of the greatest confidence tricks ever. Or it would be but for the fact that these cretins actually believe religiously that unfettered capitalism is the true path to the Kingdom of Heaven.

I don't think it's seeing it as a market, some of the Labour policies which they want to implement will fundamentally affect long-term investment in the country. I also don't think it's greed - that's a little harsh. The main ones are the re-nationalisation of privately owned companies at whatever value McDonnell sees fit and in government bonds instead of cash and the appropriation of 10% of every medium sized company and above disguised as given money back to the people but capped in a way that means it's a tax on private companies and the people get relatively little. They might mean well and obviously I understand they want to get more funds to do the projects we do need (I do certainly concede many things need to change and funds need to be found somewhere) but doing things in that way will decrease the money they have in the longer term as nobody in their right money would invest anything in UK Inc. So in essence they would run out of other peoples money eventually. As I've said though, it doesn't mean some things don't need to change, just not in this way. SB [Post edited 12 Dec 2018 22:04]
