After relegation to League Two in 2021 followed by relegation to the Conference in 2024, crowds were down to an average of 4,300 as the debt grew to £173m.

However, with the FIFA, UEFA, the FA and the PL finally getting some balls and dealing with FFP, Ipswich were effectively promoted to the top division when 97 clubs were demoted to the 9th tier and lower.

Ipswich finished 2nd in the PL in 2025-26, just behind champions Hartlepool and ahead of the other Champions League qualifiers Sutton (3rd) and Dulwich Hamlet (4th).

By 2029 we'd won the Champions League, after a penalty win over the new French giants Blouemenye-de-sur-swaille, the village side from an area with 116 people and 4 dogs, who themselves were given 5 promotions in the FFP shake up.

Ipswich are playing some lovely football in the Championship but the fans have boycotted games as the club have just announced it will be charging £1.80 to process and send out away tickets.

Point of order.... due to the perverse nature of football supporting and an innovative ticketing scheme that's 25,000 season ticket holders in the Conference.

Yes, highest fee received since 2019 is for a 42 year old chambers in the close season (we let go half our academy as part of the deal for him to go to Ipswich Wanderers reserve team having previously renewed his contract again).
We drew one away to Nacton Ladies last year but lost 4-1 on penalties (Skuse scored our penalty in what was his 750th game for the club)

Town abandon their now-familiar green and brown strip and have dredged up some retro blue-and-white job, available from all towns with good retailers starting at £399 for the Juniors. As Ipswich has no such retailers, diehards are forced to travel to Norwich to buy the kit via the new, super-fast Ipswich-Norwich in 99 minutes line.

Norwich have now acquired an entire fleet of open-top buses while continuing to decorate them with a hoarding that invites fans everywhere to remember Inter Milan.

Meanwhile Inter Milan themselves have now amalgamated with A.C. and groundshare with Real Madrid on a newly discovered planet aptly named Galacticos. Ronaldo, having kissed the inter-planetary shirt comes back to haunt them with a double hat-trick in a promo match-up on Mars.

The Ipswich Legends bar comes under fire as fans divide on whether or not to inaugurate Dean Gerken as our last standout keeper.

Rod Stewart plays Portman Road to a small crowd who demand to be allowed to sit down in the famous standing-only fanzone.

Marcus Evans unveils a new five-point super-plan which involves: a) getting a bit better b) building on that c) going on from there d) consolidating our improvement
e) putting together a squad of the last players to have graduated from our academy when it closed twenty years previously..

Our young guns of 2019, when allowed to wander down memory lane, realise it’s so overgrown that they can’t actually find it, though a Star rumour has it that Apple might be relocating here.

True although corresponding on an ITFC forum would be some achievement for a mayfly.

Some seem to manage it on a daily basis though.

It’s all about the flies. I thought Jeff Goldblum was superb in the film. Although I’ve never read Lord of the Flies, despite it being a classic. Is it any good?

Definitely a good read and also at least two chapter titles have been used as song names by well known rock bands but I can only remember one off the top of my head, the closing track on U2's second album.
