What's your dream car? 10:51 - Jul 23 with 4564 viewsDecageBruce

I'm not thinking about Million £ super cars etc but those that you may have lusted after as your first car/when younger and is no longer practical for your life or not worth the money etc.

For me it was the original Renault Cleo Williams. Wanted one all though my 20's but was unable to insure. Had some great fun cars since and now told old to drive it around as I imagined with my stereo up loud and looking like a little pr%ck. Now I'd just look like a pr%ck in his late 30's that should know better.

Close contenders for me also:

Peugeot 205 1.9 Gti
Ford Orion Ghia
Alfa GT (which I did own and thinking of getting another)

Which van did those hawthorn bandits drive?

I wouldn't mind rolling round in the back of a tranny.

In a or with a?

Had to be a yellow Mk 1 Escort Mexico. I managed a brown Mk 1, not quite the same.

Ford Cortina Mk2. 2000e around the old, old G or H plate.

Mk2 Golf G60

Rolls Royce. In gold on an old, old G or H plate.

BMW 6 series, the first one. A nice flat 6 cylinder version.

AlfaSud - I think that's how you spell it.

Mk1 Fiesta XR2

Mk1 Escort Mexico (thanks to whomever posted that as it had slipped my mind)

Honda CB125 Twin Superdream. I had one when I was a teen and loved every slow mile.

Assumption is to make an ass out of you and me. Those who assume they know you, when they don't are just guessing. Those who assume and insist they know are daft and in denial. Those who assume, insist, and deny the truth are plain stupid. Those who assume, insist, deny the truth and tell YOU they know you (when they don't) have an IQ in the range of 35-49.

I've dreamt of lots of cars over the years, bit of a car slut in my fantasies, but have been faithful to my current car 2 years, and its predecessor 7 years.

1976 Ford Granda Consul 3.0 Ghia -> Like Regan's one in The Sweeney. My Uncle had one and I drove it around Chantry once.

1986 Ford Capri Tickford Turbo

Ford Sierra Sapphire Cosworth

Triumph Stag

Triumph TR8

Rover SDi 3.5 Vitesse

Range Rover

Lotus Carlton

Talbot Rancho!

BMW M5

Alfa Romeo Giulia

In fact if I did win the lottery I am more likely to buy myself a multi story car park and live out this dream

Toyota Mr2 mark II. Obtained one in 2011 with an immaculate electric blue original paint job. Trouble was the engine gasket had gone and was completely gone after 2 days driving! Had to quote trade description act to the seller and get my money back.

Currently mulling over my lifelong ambition of owning a Porsche, such as a Boxster, or whether the campervan dream is better.

An original Peugeot 205 GTI 1.9.

A magnificent car, chassis from God.

Mate of mine has a red one (amongst other classic fords). It's a beautiful car and, when it's running, sounds immense

I don't really have one, although a Porsche 911 would be nice. I like Audi's when I was younger, and have scratched that itch with an A6 avant. When i grow up to the point that the kids have left home, I'd quite like a MX5 or the Fiat Abarth Spyder version of it.

Good to see an Alpha on the OP's list. Now if you want a pure Alpha, it would have to be the Giulia Quadrifoglio, which is quite literally half a Ferrari in the important part. Not really affordable though for the general buyer (£65k), although comparable to a lot of the 4WD tanks you see driving around, so maybe more affordable than 'real' supercars (cheaper than a Tesla too, and no competition there).

Stunning motor. Give it 5 years and they will have dropped price enough for me

Impressive, aren't they. They designed an estate version, but it was never commissioned. Would have been one hell of a family car.

I used to dream of a Lexus, but since owning a Lexus, its amazing the number of Lexi you see around. Because that's the plural.

Maybe not strictly a car, but I'd have to say the Peugeot Partner. Very nice little van for odd jobs and as a runaround.

I'm not into cars at all. Just changed my Citroen van for a Mercedes Citan van. Has five seats, air con and a decent boot. Car luxury with van capabilities. Very efficient 1.5 euro 6 Diesel engine giving me nearly 60 miles to the gallon.

Give me a motorbike any day.

That said, I have never pulled a bird based on my wheels.

Before I read what you'd written I was about to post 'need me one of them'.

Shame its not in production. Only issue I've had around near me is that the Alfa dealers are complete arses. Went to Test drive about 12 months ago and they looked at me like I was a piece of sh&t (in shorts and t). Never got back to me about a test drive and one 'wasnt available that day'. If I ever was in the position I certainly wouldn't give that dealership my money

Land Rover Defender, preferably a shltty old one with faded paintwork. If you got one of them you can go where you like in the countryside and everyone assumes that you are meant to be there.

Always loved the Peugeot 205 1.9 Gti but anyone who doesn't say the Citroen DS is wrong.

Bought one of these in 2002 in this colour and still own it. Not driven it in about 18 months now but I do love it. It went to being worth literally nothing but now the prices are creeping up on them.

No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.
