Labour need a strong leader of the opposition. Someone who appeals to everyone. Someone the complete opposite to Corbyn. Not a massive fan of Phillips, but she may well appeal and attract a wide range of voters. That said there are better options. I'm not really sold on either of them as leader at the moment, although they both seem honourable people which is perhaps the most important quality right now. Don't see any other real candidates myself, although I haven't been following closely.
Is it possible that they could operate as co-leaders for say three years, and then have one or the other emerge, more experienced, as leader a couple of years before a GE? Obviously there could well be a GE before then, and that strategy might backfire. |  |
