Karma.

Assumption is to make an ass out of you and me. Those who assume they know you, when they don't are just guessing. Those who assume and insist they know are daft and in denial. Those who assume, insist, and deny the truth are plain stupid. Those who assume, insist, deny the truth and tell YOU they know you (when they don't) have an IQ in the range of 35-49.

But I think that God's got a sick sense of humour

The Moonies?

Seriously though the extremes of organised religion have let themselves down over this outbreak.

This has caused a raging debate on the RE teachers forum I frequent. (Everything does on there oddly enough).

But there seems to be an oddly specific focus on orthodox Jews and bible belt America ignoring the advice brazenly in the media. I assume it's because it's so identifiable and adds the faith angle vs. science nicely.

There was strong condemnation from a senior Rabbi in London of people putting ceremony and socialising over safety. I wonder if part of it is the massive role collective action, worship and family life plays in the culture and lifestyle?

That is brilliant isn't it. You know we are kind of fcked when ISIS guys, who don't exactly have a long life expectancy, decide to give us all a wide berth :-)

I posted a link to a religious based Uni in the US.

They've gone back. What happened?
C19 was ready with a full magazine and is mowing them down.

A rather naughty analogy but as it's religion, bad gun control, and a Uni which supports Trump I thought it suitable.

I think that's because , reverting perhaps to the pre-enlightenment thinking of their antecedents, a number of religious leaders have openly proclaimed that their faith will protect the godly.

It's different to, for example, the UK government and associated Westminster institutions where a rather relaxed attitude allowed infection to spread rapidly.
