Stay Alert (n/t) on 13:30 - May 10 by DebsyAngel | We are in the Felixstowe Road area. The Co-op nearby is not that great, my husband does try in there, but he has also tried Home Bargains which is not too bad for some stuff. |
Is the Lloyds Pharmacy at 159 Felixstowe Road convenient for you, might be easier to get to than Boots?

Neither just clarity and some sort of sense of purpose with a plan behind it. At the moment, we’re stumbling from one set of mixed messages to another which is costing lives and will continue to do so.

Stay Alert (n/t) on 14:36 - May 10 by bluelagos | Point of order. Extended solo cycle rides and hikes are not responsible for spreading CV. The clue is on the word solo. And I don't apologise for 1 second for encouraging people to get outside for their exercise. It is beneficial for them both physically an in terms of improving their mental health. |
The big problem is how you interpret the rules. A near neighbour goes a for a bike ride, but loads bikes into his car and comes back hours later. Some would say. That is breaking the rules but if they don’t interact with others then it is OK by me.

Clearly you aren't aware of the difference between a plan and some bland, highly ambiguous slogans. You really will defend the Tories no matter what. Shame on you.

I do go in there for my medications, but for anything else, it's pretty sparse sadly. Also after town, I do walk home, so that's a bit more exercise for me in the open air.

Are you just reading what you want to read now? And what’s this bootlickers thing that’s started? Is this the new gammons/snowflakes bollox?

Is the skipping rope to keep people a suitable safe distance? If so, genuinely seems like a nice non threatening way of doing it :-)

What is the conflict between those positions? I am not convinced these are all teh same people you refer to- but even if they are? People wanting adult information and clarity about plans for the future. People wanting adult information about current plans- rather than a vapid slogan. Its the same thing in essence...

I have to say that a rather menacing, large sounding dog started doing its pieces at me as I walked past someone's garden. I upped my walking pace a bit trying to find some balance between putting some distance between us quickly and not looking too unnerved. I did get the rope out of my pocket and try to come up with something in case it got out and chased me. Do I show it the rope and try saying "walkies"? Or do I swing the thing at it and hope for the best?

Mate, I'm hopeless with dogs. They often run at bikes (Cycles and motorbikes) which can be really scary. The worst though was a deer in Richmond park that was eyeing me up in rutting season. Couldn't work out if it wanted to hump me, or chase me. Neither seemed good tbh. Hid behind a tree for about 10 mins before it went away.

Every time I hear Richmond Park - let alone dogs and deer[!] - I can't help but think of "Fenton!". Heh. One of my [late] dogs was a very bright girl, but occasionally disobedient once fixated on something. I used to take her to Ickworth Park sometimes for a change of scenery. The place was known for its deer herd but I always walked my dogs well away from that side of the park. Once I knew we were in the clear, as it were, I could let her off the lead and she would mosey along quite nicely close to me. One time a deer had got loose and went belting past us at speed and it was just too much for her. I was screaming at her but it was too late and she gave chase. Off it ran back to the herd and she followed it back into the pen. There was a commotion by the time I got there with a hundred of them running back and forth with a wagging tail right in the middle of it all. I didn't dare go back there for years. I genuinely thought someone might come along and shoot her as would possibly be their right.

I don’t think anyone is blindly defending the government? But there was also nothing wrong with saying “let’s wait and see” at the start of this either.

Bar all the evidence from the beginning that suggested exactly where we’d end up. And the people who are blindly defending the government. And here we are.

You say “all the evidence”, we obviously chose a different path, the information coming from China was scanty, the information coming from Italy was yet to be fully assessed. Whether the government took advantage of that situation is another matter. I doubt that any inquiry will find out the real facts. Considering your early posting on the matter was very panicky, your current “see I told you” grates.

What am I supposed to say at this point though? I was correct. Didn't really want to be but it was fairly obvious where we'd end up. Do we need a recap AGAIN of the botched science we followed, the chop 'n' change approach, the lack of preparation, etc? It'd be nice if the rest of the country could wake up from this Stockholm Syndrome "Dear Leader" nightmare as I have to live in it too. As do all the countless people at risk of this virus. At least they got the emergency hospital pop ups part correct I guess.
