Update message from Newcy... 10:57 - Sep 14 with 13939 views

Hi all

I’ve got very little internet at the moment due to the wonders of satellites and our funnel blocking the signal!

MrsNewcy had a scan today, still no growth on Twin 2. The cord pressure isn’t great. They’re going to deliver today at 32 weeks +5.

They need to find special care cots first, as the ones they have are full. Otherwise they will send her to a different hospital, which she doesn’t want.

Right now we are waiting for news on the cots, the section itself should take 45 minutes from start to finish. Then the hospital has to get them to special care and do their magic.

MrsN will eventually be discharged from hospital, probably next week. Sent home without the babies. She will go back in for a 10 day stay whenever they are ready to come out of special care and go to the ward.

I may get home with a few days to spare before everyone comes home.

I hope you’re all well. Give your loved ones an extra cuddle tonight. Because I can’t.

I've just read this thread - feel awful as had just sent him an inane message on ther about his 5k he ran and how work is draining on me. What a tw*t.

Further updates... At Sunderland. Scan happened so the surgeon knows the positions of the babies Someone from the RVI (where she works and has been a patient for the last couple of weeks) who is very high went in the ambulance with her. They think very highly of her They want to transfer her and the twins back as soon as they can Section in the next 2 hours

(as a side note, I'm not sure sending someone who is 'very high' is perhaps the best person to send in this situation where clarity of mind and calmness would be very important?)

I'm sure he would probably appreciate the diversion and distraction to be honest (unless it distracts him whilst actually docking the ship)

My wife got rushed into hospital when our son was born last year as there was no sign of growth and it was extremely scary.

Another update...

A colleague of hers has gone with her, to keep an eye on things... now getting scrubs on. It's a midwife she trusts so she's lucky she can have her in as a birthing partner.

I'm sure I can speak for everyone to say good luck MrsN from all of us here, and calmness for Newcy too - as must be horrendous being so far away whilst all this is going on.

Thank you for taking over the baton.. I’d had the WhatsApp messages you had, but was in an improv class at the time, so didn’t manage to pass it on here... sorry for leaving people in the lurch, but glad the news still got through!
