I've just seen the clips from Twitter as I don't have a licence to watch on Iplayer but bloody hell, these heartless individuals... They're all preaching personal responsibility, while voting for a policy that will ensure whether or not kids eat is determined by their parents income, which they have no control over.
First we have Brendan Clarke Smith accusing those wanting to feed kids of "virtue signalling." He's the same bloke who was caught denying the scale of food banks during his election hustings.
And Kieran Mullen, claiming that it's not the state's job to feed kids.

Merely replying to posts about me - something some might suggest is part of the purpose of a forum.
And if I claim to be a better Town supporter than you, I do not think it would be seen as a threat or weird for you, or anyone else, to ask me to qualify that comment.

If someone is going to promote themselves as a working class hero how is it not a fair followup question to ask "well, what is it that you do?"
Nobody would even be asking about Paz's job had he not been mouthing off about how he understands the working man in ways that the rest of the forum don't?

I lived in housing association accommodation, I did an apprenticeship whilst caring for my disabled mum.
When I was 23 my mum died, and I became homeless. The council weren’t interested because I was on £500 a month doing my cadetship in the merchant navy.
I spent £350 on a Mondeo estate. That was a lot of my savings gone. That became my home. Everything I could fit inside, I kept. The rest got taken to Felixstowe tip.
I tipped a lot of stuff that I regret tipping.
I’m now in a position where I am not far off being a Master Mariner, a Captain of a ship.
I still consider myself as working class, even though my profession most definitely is not.

“ As you clearly haven't understood this I will post for your benefit”
You can take that attitude out for a start.
I’d say if you wish to highlight the hypocrisy of posters, do it. Don’t beat around the bush. It wasn’t a giant leap to make.
Count posts, I don’t care about that. I find it amusing.
If you want to point out that Paz is a pr1ck and hypocrite for saying what he does, then say it.
Hey Paz, you’re wrong about the free school meals, people have provided statistics to show so. You agreed with me that the vouchers couldn’t be used for alcohol. How about being less of a pr1ck about it?
See. Easy.
Only that doesn't address what he actually said, it merely allows you to be abusive.
The reality is that you jumped in with both feet, without having read what the comments were being made about.
For my part he is welcome to post his thoughts, however odious they maybe to some - but that means they are there to be challenged.
And sometimes to draw out the lies you have to draw out the liar. That was all I was doing.
And that can mean a sort of 'softly softly catchee monkey'

This gets to something that interests me: the purpose of a forum like this. This thread shows a few different functions for different people: - a place to share views, to see what responses it gets, ether to feel validated by agreement, or maybe angry about opposing views - a place to find holes in someone's argument, (sometimes based on exposing their circumstances, eg job) - a place to vent - feeling strongly about something and being able to let people know, to get it off out chests - (once a thread gets going) a way of defending ourselves against what we think is an unfair attack - a place to practise understanding - to genuinely try to imagine what it is that makes someone have a different view to us.
All valid, but I think the last one is what we need more of if we're gonna come through the Lambert years.

I don't think it's as simple as that. If you condemn someone as simply a c**** then it seems pretty pointless debating with them. I had opinions 20 years ago that I'd find pretty wrong now. But I understand why I had them. I wasn't simply a c***.

I'm on the left, am in absolute 100% support of Marcus Rashford and would have voted against the government on the commons vote if i had one.
But I don't need to call every opinion i disagree with "trolling" and abuse my opponents. Perhaps the wokists should take a leaf out of Rashford's book - he has not made any references to politics, nor any mention of race in relation to the children. He just purely wants children fed and i feel absolute, shiver down the spine, pride in that man.
LOL at your first sentence there.

In all the years I've posted on here I can't think of a single occasion I've seen you put forth a position on political, social, or economic issues that could properly be described as left wing.
Perhaps he's one of those people who thinks the nazis were socialists, and therefore...

But there has been a forum member reported to their work before.
I don’t agree with anything Pazzers posts, he knows I disagree with him. But I see no benefit in obtaining work details.
I think if this is something that is continued then I am happy for my account to be removed. I don’t want to be associated with a forum that will stoop to such levels.
Rumour has it you work on a ship!

To be fair that’s a problem throughout the centre and with far too many of the Labour Party as well. Many that think they’re balanced and even term themselves centre-left are really just One Nation conservatives when it comes down to it and they reject anyone that talks about genuinely progressive policies and change.
Lowhouse isn’t exactly an outlier.

hey thicky, it was a reply to trequartista not to me. i know you only post the same repetitive nonsense again and again - but i'm not involved in this thread. your idea of 'change' is posting the same old nonsense on a football website again and again. oh you shouty, totally ineffective radical, you. you oppose the tories, you oppose starmer, you're a total irrelevance.
And so as the loose-bowelled pigeon of time swoops low over the unsuspecting tourist of destiny, and the flatulent skunk of fate wanders into the air-conditioning system of eternity, I notice it's the end of the show

Well, you’re the worst person on here I know for empty politics so of course I’m going to mention you. You’re the low water mark of extreme centrism.
Have you decided yet whether you’re Labour or Brexit Party?

very happy with starmer thanks. a credible alternative to the tories.
you're the equivalent of those americans who are too left wing and too self-obsessed to vote for biden.

You’re the equivalent of those Democrats that don’t know they’re just as much the problem - even more part of the problem considering they’ve even been in power.
I’d vote for Starmer (or Biden) as the best alternative. Doesn’t mean we’re even having the right conversation though.

you were trying to give credence to fake stuff and you got abusive when it was pointed out. embarrassing.
