I'm worried about Florida, personally. The polls have been tightening. The Hispanic demographic is largely anti-Castro Cuban, who are historically Republican (as in Ollie North style Republican) as opposed to Mexican and other Central and South Americans who are more likely to be Democrat (and who Trump has vilified).

Trump and his cronies have been hammering Florida. There's a lot of redneck country in between the cities, too.

If Biden wins it, then he has won. If he loses it, he can still win.

Georgia is now looking more likely, with an energised Black vote in Atlanta key to a Biden victory.

I work in markets for a US-based company so don't have much choice in the matter, unfortunately. We'll be reporting all night on any small twist and turn that spooks traders!

True enough.

OK, "I'm planning to hit the beers much harder than usual and pass out in a pile of cheap Polish lager cans and discarded Indian takeaway boxes around 9pm."

That sound any better?

That app gave me two numbers that didn’t even add up to 538 so I’ve ignored the app now and gone my own way.

I can only think I somehow missed a state or something somehow because it was way short of the 538 required

Nebraska and Maine split the state into different congressional districts. Maybe there!

So what time is it all beginning to happen and when are we expecting actual results?

Sorry, I can't be bothered to look it up when the info is probably already here.

I'm not expecting an actual, definite winner until Thursday, and that's if Biden wins fairly comfortably. If it's tight, it could take weeks.

But as the UK wakes up on Wednesday morning there should be a pretty solid idea of which of those two scenarios is the more likely. It will either be "Early indications are good for Biden" or "Nobody knows how this will turn out until Early Ballots are counted in Pennsylvania". And that will take a while. And then, if it is that close, there will be loads of legal challenges all over the shop.

Tell you what, to make it a bit more fun, if I am within +/- 5 points of the final result I'll donate fifty quid to the charity of TWTDs choice.

If I am right I am getting really p1ssed and will then donate to AA.

It's looking like we won't find the results for PA for severla days.

So, if Biden takes NC (which will probably announce around 10pmEST) then I'mma relax a little.

If he takes Arizona, Imma relax a little more.

If Dems take Georgia too (which their actions seems to suggest they're confident of) then I'mma relax completely and not worry about PA.

If Dems take Texas then I'mma bust open all the booze in my house.

I have a hunch that suburban, college educated women are going to be the surprise bumper underpolled voters this time round.

Not news to you I know but I saw a piece yesterday that said how so many more younger people are turning out for this election than the last.

On interviewing a few it was concluded that many of the youngsters were over-complacent last time and there was a sense that the adults had this.

Now they've witnessed for themselves what can happen there is far more of a determination to be part of things, which can only be a positive outcome if any is to be found from this mess of the past few years.

I am predicting a Trump win. I predicted Hilary in 2016 and Remain in the Bexit vote, so I figured I will try and be wrong a third time.

However #TrumpLandslideWin is trending on twitter, so... the election is as good as won for the chief P***y Grabber.

Crazy that it's still in doubt. Before this populist madness Trump would not have been elected to a parish council. He is like a cartoon character in his madness and badness. He is pursuing policies and holding events that will kill people and even some of those he openly castigates vote for him. The level of ignorance is just ridiculous. How can people be so easily fooled by an eogotistical idiot??

That's the point I keep coming back to.

Do you believe that this massive turnout has been inspired by Trump to vote for him, or against him? Don't forget to factor in that he's never had an approval rating above 50%.

I can't see how he's found and inspired millions of additional voters who typically don't vote, or vote democratic.

I just can't see it. I believe these people are largely coming out to vote against him. I'll find out tomorrow I guess!

Sadly it comes down to education, and vast swathes of the country have a high school diploma as their highest level of education (if that).

The Republicans like to keep their voters poor, dumb and angry but dress it up as patriotism.
