You're at work when someone sends you an Amazon link to another colleague's awful self-published book. You don't particularly like the person who authored the book, so do you:
a) Be dignified and don't read any of it.
b) Only read the preview pages for a bit of a laugh.
c) Buy it and read it in full for even more of a laugh.
d) Buy it, read it and start selectively quoting it in meetings.
This moral decision is tearing me apart, Lisa. I would ring up Radio Four for help but I think they've bigger fish to fry.

When I was courting Mrs Badger, she was also being pursued by a slightly iffy bloke who was self-publishing. Naturally, we shared the 'best bits of it far and wide as he'd sent it to he in an effort to prove he was a more cultured man than the scruffy article from Suffolk she ended up with.
