Choice of new manager 21:41 - Feb 9 with 2762 views | Shineyblueknives | So.... If Shambert was to fall on his sword tonight or if Evans plucks up the courage to dip into his pockets to fire him. Who does everybody want as a replacement and what would make them worthy of the poisoned chalice.

Choice of new manager on 21:44 - Feb 9 with 2504 views | Nthsuffolkblue | If Pearson is genuinely available to us there is no question he should be the one. If he is not, then I care less about who gets it than Lambert actually going. I would almost rather see Megson here right now. That would be about right, wouldn't it, just to show us BCWYWF Evans would appoint Megson or Barton or similar.

Pearson all day long for me. A proven disciplinarian with a good record to shake up our shower of sh1t.

I was very much Dyer, but if Pearson would take it, appointing him would be a no brainer. We need to get out of this league and quickly. It is still possible if we act now and get someone in who can get us up.

Choice of new manager on 21:50 - Feb 9 with 2410 views | mattrolow | Paul Cook. Passionate, always seems to have a good spirit in the squad with great character. Managed some difficult clubs with ownership struggles and fan expectations at Portsmouth especially. Think he would be a great fit.

I'm not sure I could deal with another Paul...

That's an interesting observation. I suppose the lure of working with Pearson again would not be enough to get him to leave Villa. I hadn't realised he had gone there. I wonder who Pearson would want to work with him. Would Dyer as an assistant work?

I think Pearson assisted by Dyer would be something I'd be happy to see.

I think Shakespeare is also a Villa supporter. No idea who NP would choose as assistant if he got the gig. For me it’s Dyer. Phil has remarked how well regarded KD is and how he will do very well when gets his club. He and Butch will do well here and offer the best option in healing the wounds between supporters and club.

Yes, Wiki says Shakespeare is. I was initially opposed to Dyer but I would love it to work for him here.

Choice of new manager on 22:40 - Feb 9 with 2061 views | SomethingBlue | The Cowleys clearly think there will be a job available at a promotion chasing (I know, I know) side soon, which is why they aren't up for AFCW. We can hope ...

Choice of new manager on 22:46 - Feb 9 with 1988 views | Plums | The Cowleys. Pearson really didn’t impress me on Quest the other night. Just full of waffle and cliches. I know that’s not the training ground but comparing his analysis to Danny Cowley it’s stark.

Another vote for the Cowleys. I think they could I instil some confidence into the players and club generally. I’m not sure Pearson wouldn’t be in run down to retirement mode if he came here.

Ok, as you like it then. As things stand, measure for measure, he might be a decent bet. Now how'd you feel about it?

Nigel Pearson would be outstanding, bring Kieron Dyer in as first team coach. Failing that Paul Cook or Steve Robinson.

I've heard very good things regarding Dyer's coaching attributes from some ex-players, very impressive by all accounts.

I can’t decide whether the bard would compose a comedy or a tragedy if he were here and minded to write about us.

Choice of new manager on 08:13 - Feb 10 with 1373 views | Kropotkin123 | Dyer, Cook or Pearson all seem like good options to me. I'd like Dyer to be given the option of first team coaching, if he isn't manager.
