Paul Cook to Brizzle City? on 11:00 - Feb 18 by Harry_Palmer | Of course not, they are good a winning football matches. Marcus is not keen on that type of Manager. |
Are they? 32.5% win ratio at Huddersfield. I guess that is better than the 31.8% win rate PL has. [Post edited 18 Feb 2021 11:47]

Paul Cook to Brizzle City? on 11:08 - Feb 18 by PhilTWTD | Not sure these days, Lee obviously. Charlie Woods was his advisor at one time but has moved back to the North-East and I don't think has any involvement now. Dave Bowman seems close to ME so will presumably be among those talked to, Bryan Klug as well I'd imagine. I think the Harry Redknapp relationship was overhyped even if it did exist at one time and David Pleat was an informal advisor at one point. |

Surely for comparison, given where we are in the league, you should look at the Lincoln percentage, which was 53.3%

No, I don't think so. Lincoln wasn't a relegated, failing club. Us and Huddersfield both fit that in our relative divisions. I don't think they have the ability to manage upwards. I think we are too big a challenge for them.

Lincoln were very much flailing. They were in the conference for the first time in their history when they arrived. Granted they'd been down for 5 years already, but Cowley has since said he felt the club hadn't properly recovered or come to terms with its' decline.

Paul Cook to Brizzle City? on 11:00 - Feb 18 by PhilTWTD | I agree, a drop into League One might not appeal, even if I'm aware he likes the club and, of course, came close to becoming manager when Jim was appointed in 2006. His wife also has family around here. |
You'd love to think Pearson would fancy it, but there are some Premier teams who are teetering on the edge of sackings and they're going to be much better options for him financially. That being said, the one thing I see as a positive here... If Lambert saw us in decline for 2.5 years and still in employment, if Pearson can get us going in the right direction, he'll have more than 2.5 years in a job!

More that I've not heard too many encouraging noises about their prospects of getting the job when talking to people at the club. But I have heard they have been spoken to so they're not entirely off the list even if, from how I read it, they're not the most favoured candidates as things stand.

That job stability would appeal to him, I think. Stark contrast to Watford.

You seem to have forgotten the 53% at Lincoln, not to mention the context regarding what they inherited at Huddersfield which was a team that had literally forgotten how to win and were heading to League One. The job they did was not dissimilar to what MM did when he arrived here and I don't remember anybody complaining, To provide further context, Cowley actually outperformed David Wagner over their respective first 31 games in charge https://www.examinerlive.co.uk/sport/football/news/danny-cowley-record-not-even-

Paul Cook to Brizzle City? on 10:53 - Feb 18 by PhilTWTD | Cook has definitely been in the thoughts but obviously now looks to be going elsewhere. Pearson would be a very strong candidate if he's interested and another source has backed up that he's been spoken to. I might be tempted to see him as favourite at the moment but that's assuming he's actually interested. Harris is another that's been contacted as well. There may well be others, of course, but the four that are mentioned are those that I've heard are in the running and have been sounded out, although to what degree I don't know. Kieron might be another to add to the list but obviously awkward for ME to start sounding out the U23s coach about the manager's job with the manager still in place. |
Dyer doesn't need sounding out surely? He would jump at the chance.

Who realistically leads the pack from available when you look at it though. He'll go cheap, go Dyer, which would be such a tough gig for your first job. [Post edited 18 Feb 2021 12:19]
