So how does a discreet garden-side chat with Oprah sit alongside calls for privacy and being left alone? Just how much money can the role of Victim make you?
Re others - in Anne's case that's only because she specifically asked for hers not to be.
Will look the others up.
As for your final para - that's just the kind of defamatory smearing that drove H & M out of the country in the first place - says more about you than her.
Says nothing about me at all. I was delightedly for them! Don’t ignore the obvious now though. Did you see her dad on the telly this morning?
Because Oprah was INVITED, rather than sneaking around with a long-lens.
Think of it as the difference between someone being invited round for dinner or staring in through your window when you're eating your tea. Not hard.

You say it's not hard, but there seem to be an awful lot of people who struggle with it.
This is all turning into a bit of a nonsense. Andrew hanging out with a convicted child trafficking peodophile got nowhere near the attention, if you'll excuse the whataboutery.
Archie is not the only exception though, I think you will find that Anne’s and Edwards children do not have prince or princess titles. I can imagine the outcry from a few on here if the taxpayer was paying for their security when he removed himself from Royal duties. He actually declared they wanted to be financially independent so really can’t play that card either. Amazing though how everyone that gets involved with Ms Markle eventually falls out with her big style, family, first husband and now the Royals, anyone seeing a pattern here?
Archie is out of scope as regards to being a Prince, he is too far removed.
He could have been Earl of Dumbarton or something like that but they chose not to use it.
A prince though he would not be.

Beatrice and Eugenie are Grandchildren of the Monarch
Archie is a Great Grandchild of the Monarch
Here's ITV royal correspondant
As a counterpoint to that, the entirety of the Letters Patent set out that the title of prince was only to be conferred upon the great-grandchild who was the eldest child of the grandchild first in order of succession (i.e. the one who would eventually be monarch, i.e. Prince George).
It seems that was ignored for Prince Louis and Princess Charlotte, so it would definitely appear that there would be some picking and choosing as to when that rule is applied...
The interesting part isn't the colour of someone's skin it the bit where Megan says she didn't get support but they were prepared to lie to support another member of the family.
{Probably an age* thing but I really don't think discussing what colour an unborn's skin will be in actually racist, insensitive, inappropriate certainly but you could only consider the speaker to be racist if the colour of the skim would impact on how they felt about them.
* seems to me the younger you are the less tolerant you are.
It’s no more than wondering what color the babies hair will be.

I believe this was extended to all siblings of the future monarch about 10 years ago.

"She is entitled to be respected for the sacrifices she has made and for her dedication to her country and the Commonwealth over a very long period."
I do take issue when people talk about these so called sacrifices. She waves and opens things, and lives in absolute luxury for that. She isn't trapped, she could abdicate if she didn't want the responsibility.
Trying not to offend you here Jeera, but I tend to think people who talk of the Queen's sacrifices have been brainwashed by the narrative they put out. A lot of people in this country - I'm talking millions - would give their right arm to live in the comfort and splendour she endures.
"people who talk of the Queen's sacrifices have been brainwashed by the narrative they put out"
Well, no not really. Being Head of State since 1952 has involved a little more than a 'bit of waving and opening things'.
It is certainly not a life most people would want, hence H&M have spoken about escaping from being 'trapped' within it.
I should think the Queen herself has lived under enormous pressure for parts of her reign and has probably wished she could have been born into something quite different.
It's not being brainwashed to believe she has served her country. Many a nation has shown the UK respect through no small part of having her visit on official engagements and visa versa. Links have been established and maintained, trade has been built off the back off the existence of that establishment. She has been very well respected the world over.
The problem here is that people are speaking as though she's just appeared in their own lifetimes and so are being rather revisionist without having lived through those years themselves.
Besides, what you gonna do? Sack her? She's pushing a hundred years old so doesn't have long left.
What's wrong with showing a bit of respect and dignity for her final days?
And then bringing down the chopper once she's gone.
Vic, that is extremely backwards and entirely incorrect.
I’m genuinely not sure why it is though. This whole colour of skin thing seems self perpetuating. The more we make of it the more of a story there is. Who really cares what colour someones skin is - we’re all the same! We need to stop seeing colour of someone skin as something special or distinctive. It really is no more important that someone ones hair colour.
To be clear - no one should be prejudiced again or treated differently because of the colour of their skin, in any situation. It is irrelevant.

Incredible that in 2021 this still needs to be explained to people like they're five years old.
Anyhow, I'm shocked that people are shocked. Isn't it obvious that the royals have always had that Benters worldview backed up by a shed load of other people's money?
Pronouns: He/Him/His.
"Imagine being a heterosexual white male in Britain at this moment. How bad is that. Everything you say is racist, everything you say is homophobic. The Woke community have really f****d this country."

Problem is, people are still discriminated against and so we have to keep making something of it.

I appreciate all she's done when visiting other countries, and that she's respected. These things don't really have much to do with what I said though. If it's a life she didn't want then she could have abdicated as Edward VIII did.
"It's not being brainwashed to believe she has served her country." You're making a straw man there, because I didn't say it was. I said people are brainwashed into thinking she's made tough sacrifices. She lives in comfort and splendour. She consumes the finest food and wine money can buy. Has the best healthcare. Is waited on hand and foot. They're not the sacrifices a single mum living on a council estate has to make.
Harry and Meghan can talk about being 'trapped' but the fact that they escaped to America shows they weren't actually trapped, however they felt at the time.
Problem is, people are still discriminated against and so we have to keep making something of it.
Precisely this. People who say 'I don't see colour' are lying to themselves, and it really doesn't help to pretend that you don't when someone's skin colour is also deeply intertwined with their lived experiences. Not saying it should be at the forefront of people's minds, but pretending colour isn't an issue really isn't helpful.

I imagine that the people who have been historically abused, lynched, enslaved, raped and murdered, and who are still persecuted, discriminated against and disenfranchised because of the colour of their skin might care a tad...
Only someone talking from the luxurious position of it not impacting their own life in the slightest would deem it an irrelevance.

A scan today of the express and daily mail online sites I counted over 50 articles and opinion pieces on the interview and situation, mostly very negative indeed towards Meghan and Harry, and this has been going on for some time.
How else do they get their side of the story heard against that sort of barrage of negative press ? They are entitled to stand up for themselves and that doesn’t effect their right to not be harassed by the press.
these so called experts gob on stick as these call them. this was before the interview, they are all psychics

Have to disagree with you there. Andrew hanging out with a convicted child trafficking peodophile got LOTS of attention at the time. Certainly as much as this.

I don't entirely agree with your 2nd para, which seems a bit "royal family-ist" - ie whilst one or more of them are obviously racist & shown some pretty shocking attitudes, other individuals amongst them - the Queen, Harry obviously and Anne (the last particularly evidently on her Commonwealth tours) have clearly demonstrated that they are not.

If everyone in the Royal Family had those thoughts then nobody would have asked Harry what colour skin his child would have.
No subject was off limits yet they didn't talk about her dad, the fall outs with friends etc.
Lots of people buying into the narrative but she seemed very disconnected from what she was saying (TBF only watched about 10 mins).
Sais security detail was taken away with only 24hrs notice but also said they were thinking of leaving for 2 years and had been told that there wouldn't be security if/when they did 🤔.
Have to say that it's a sad indictment of Hollywood when a a pair of people richet than cresus can sit in Oprahs garden saying woe is me as a global pandemic sweeps the world and people are struggling both to keep a roof over their heads and even just survive.
That to me at least shows how totally disconnected from reality the pair of them are.

You can be struggling healthwise & financially in the middle of the Covid crisis and still have time to think that racism and bullying are completely unacceptable and speak out against them.
As for the "fall out" with her Dad "& her friends" - that's irrelevant & just another attempt at smearing - it wasn't them she was receiving the racist abuse from during her time in London that pushed the couple into leaving.

I'm not suggesting for one moment we shouldn't all think about any form prejudice. Not sure where it says I do.
I wasn't suggesting her dad or her friends had anything to do with them leaving just that there seems to be a common denominator there and that clearly there were things that were of limits and thus a stage managed puff piece Is perhaps not the best barometer.

Let's be blunt. You think she's a 'b1tch' as per the other thread.
That's your basic premise?
