My wife wants me to build a bar in the garden 13:59 - Mar 19 with 3125 views | GlasgowBlue | Looking at pictures in the web it seems my best bet is to buy a garden shed and convert it as in the picture below... Has anyone one here done this and if so do you have any tips as I’m pretty hopeless when it comes to DIY.

My wife wants me to build a bar in the garden on 14:07 - Mar 19 with 2766 views | Wallingford_Boy | I did this with a few pallets and an old kitchen worktop, stuck it on corner of patio next to BBQ. I am useless at DIY also, but did it in a weekend, was good fun actually. Took the planks of the pallets to clad it neatly, made an L shape and cut the worktop to size. Shame I can't invite anyone over to use it!

No. It's for outside when the sun shines. Which it does from time to time up here.

I never got round to it myself, but converting a normal shed might be harder than building your own (not that I'm an expert, but what holds the roof up in that image for example?).

I'm in the process of converting my shed into a summerhouse - but you need the inside space in my view, doesn't have to be massive - but sticking a bit of decking out the front of it

In fairness it looks better than what I'll probably knock up. It least it's level. It's my project to be ready in time for the summer party season. If the restrictions are lifted.

I guarantee you it will end up in the skip. It looks very cheap. I recently bought a cheap shed as a garden toy storage room for my grandkids and it's pathetic. You would be better off buying a second hand one of better quality from EBay or spend some of your wifes furlough money (I presume you had her on the books and furloghed her? Good man.) on a tradesman to come and knock one up.

If you're only going to use it when the weather is nice and sit next to a shed drinking cans, why not just keep them in your garage / house and sit at an outside table? Go balls deep with it, get something built that you can chill in. Pool table, town shirts on the walls, nice lighting and old pub memorabilia. All that.

I’ve already got an indoor games room with pool table, table football etc. With all my Ipswich memorabilia on the walls. This is just for a bit of outdoor fun. Two or three parties in the summer. She'll probably use it for when the covern visit and they can all sit out in the garden getting pissed. It’s the wife’s orders. She must be obeyed. [Post edited 19 Mar 2021 15:19]

Nothing fancy or big, just want somewhere to store the usual garden bits. Just something that will last! Ta.

Ling's in Martlesham was great for sheds, but I think they have closed now and only have the site at Laurel Farm on Henley Road, not sure if they still do the sheds Lumberjack's in Bramford is also good. I actually bought a shed from Ling's last summer and got Lumberjack's to erect it. The shed was great and the installers were excellent.

Fantastic, I live just off Henley Rod now so will give Ling's a look! Cheers for the info, appreciate it.

My wife wants me to build a bar in the garden on 16:49 - Mar 19 with 2369 views | wkj | They sell for about £600, as Lucan said - it doesn't look the best of quality. I just bought one of these for the summer - perfect place to entertain while serving food and BBQ, as well as a lovely ice box style drink caddy. Well worth the extra dosh. https://www.danetti.com/products/palm-outdoor-garden-bar-and-bar-stool-set

My wife wants me to build a bar in the garden on 16:53 - Mar 19 with 2359 views | Mullet | There are some really good, but not cheap prefab type outdoor rooms now. I’d spend the DIY part kitting one of those out if I were you. Believe it or not there are Facebook groups dedicated to this stuff. Best to go there and ask I reckon. Learn from others mistakes innit

Go full on George Clarke. Buy and old horse box and convert it or something. Or build a replica of the north stand. Don’t expect to get served quickly though.
