The worst thing about that is that it was a video from a Newcastle fan about an hour into the match. They had probably never heard of him before but decided after 60 minutes he was that much of a carthorse they needed to video him.

Let's be real here, he was not great towards the end of his time here, completely checked out, but the seasons before that he was not that bad at all. He even filled at CB a couple of times and did a decent job. Feels like he got scapegoated a bit, but the majority of his time here was decent. We have had much worse RBs. |

Having been bombed out of here (with a year left on his contract so quite possibly with us having to pay some of that up too) he scored a whole 3 further league goals at such illustrious levels of the Scottish Championship and ISL

That's harsh I think, the only players who have matched his 11/12 tally since were Mcgoldrick in 13/14, Murphy in 14/15 and Waghorn in 17/18, who were all really good players for us. For just that one season he was a decent enough player for us even if he was overpaid. He was a lot better than someone like Paul Taylor or Tamas Priskin, or even Freddie Sears to be honest. He dropped off a lot the following season but still only scored two fewer than Daryl Murphy.
Doesn't matter though because the correct answer to this thread is obviously Donacien. |  |

There was something incredibly underwhelming about the signing (and performances) of Will Keane, the 26 year old striker who had 6 career goals to his name when we signed him, who was somehow supposed to save us from relegation along with Collin Quaner who might have been even worse. | |

SEB's always a weird one, it's hardly like we ever depended on him is it? We got him on a short-term deal to see if his legs still worked, which they didn't, so we promptly got rid. If he'd been anywhere near the heights he'd hit pre-injury we'd have got a player far above our level on the dirt-cheap just because we had his old manager on board, which would have been amazing; as it was, a cheap gamble that didn't come off, amongst other cheap gambles which sometimes didn't come off and sometimes did. | | | |

I'd agree with all that.
But there are gambles and there is throwing money away. He was out of shape, we didn't need to give him a contract to find that out, a weeks trial should have been more than enough.
I will also add every Irish youth that Mick signed with the words "he's going to be a big player for us" only for none of the to play. |  |

Thinking of Gleeson got me thinking of Chaplow. Chaplow was a benchwarmer for a team who would eventually get relegated and we bought him in for a promotion push.
Just think he should almost certainly be in this list.... if it wasn't for THAT goal. A legend in my eyes even though he did absolutely nothing else! | |
