Banter era players 2007 - 2021 on 09:19 - Apr 9 by Churchman | Jonathan Douglas. Even opposition fans laughed at his ineptitude in every aspect of the game. Ran like he was desperate for the thunderbox. Giles Coke. Why, just why? Paul Taylor. The decision from hell to sign him for so much money. Peterborough must have been rolling in the aisles when the offer came in. |
Jonathan Douglas may have had one of the single worst midfield games I've witnessed against Newcastle when we lost 3 - 0. There was a video circulating where he looked like a competition winner
Banter era players 2007 - 2021 on 09:27 - Apr 9 with 1007 views | Stewart27 | Leadbitter Martin Priskin Are three big signings that spring to mind. Some mention Chopra. He was like a championship version of Norwood. Rory Fallon and Stern John spring to mind when I think of loans. Simon Dawkins is the worst player I’ve ever seen at PR.

Banter era players 2007 - 2021 on 09:19 - Apr 9 by footers | The #NoBajnerNoParty thing was pretty banter era for the club's socials for a few weeks though! |
I feel like Balint was a bit of a cult figure though? As in held with some affection. I think to be Banter Era players need to be looked back on with a mix of horror schaudenfreude hubris and amazement. So your honest cloggers like for eg many of Micks wingers who were basically no good for me can’t count.

Banter era players 2007 - 2021 on 09:16 - Apr 9 by Garv | Chopra scored 14 goals in his first season. |
And yet he’s best remembered for gangsters who he owed money to turning up at the training ground and him pointing them onto Cresswell, posting bags of money in response to fans on social media and generally being a past-it waster who barely scored another goal again after that Banter

Banter era players 2007 - 2021 on 09:21 - Apr 9 by C_HealyIsAPleasure | Not even the worst RB of the last 5 years |

Banter era players 2007 - 2021 on 09:38 - Apr 9 with 951 views | chicoazul | KVY is very banter Era. Comes in as Lameberk’s only signing for cash does brilliantly is injured and never seen again for 18 months and basically destroys Lameberk’s team and way of playing and may have sent him mad, as evidenced by his rotation and team selections subsequently.

Banter era players 2007 - 2021 on 09:17 - Apr 9 by LeoMuff | Exactly cheap punts which many come good eg Moore or Mings. Much more Bantz pay someone 10-20k a week to be absent/injured/terrible/ |
Surely Moore would qualify under the 'not deemed good enough for Town but goes onto become an international and one of the top scorers in the Championship' category?

The one we spent three quarters of a million on only to loan him back to the club we purchased him from 2 weeks later You can make a pretty strong case that Spence provided more value for money than all but one name on your list too - including the one that most would probably consider to be the best (so far)

Worth pointing out the Cresswell part of that story came from Bullard to sell his book, so I'd take that with a pinch of salt. Chopra also denied it when he did his KOA interview (yes he probably would anyway). He scored another 4 goals in the 12-13 season (I'd be interested to know how many of his apps were from the bench), including a couple of winners. He clearly was a bit of a toby but he did all right for us in a football sense.

Banter era players 2007 - 2021 on 09:21 - Apr 9 by Josebadleg | Cheick Kourouma, lots of trouble to try and sign him because of red tape and the only notifiable thing he done was leak that Jewell was sacked |
I'm one of the few who actually saw him play. It was in a pre-season game against AFC Sudbury that saw a Town XI featuring Nathan Ellington(quite possibly playing at his level, as he scored) and the great white hope of the Jewell era, Byron Lawrence(who scored a hatttrick).

Banter era players 2007 - 2021 on 09:17 - Apr 9 by chicoazul | Then again two Banter Era legends came in on a free; Ben Thatcher and Leon Best. But they were big names on big money so they count. |
Bit of a stretch to suggest that Best was a 'big name'.

Buying him for big money, plssing around for ages trying to sort out a work permit, then as soon as we had had it sending him right back to Stanley on loan. Fwckin' nuts.

One decent game, injured in training and never the same again. Similarly Luciano Civelli. A few good matches, terrible injury, out for over a year, couldn't get his mojo back on return, left.

He scored those 4 goals in 33 appearances, 18 in 78 in total across his 2 years here, having been signed for c£1-1.5m and on no doubt very expensive wages. Having been bombed out of here (with a year left on his contract so quite possibly with us having to pay some of that up too) he scored a whole 3 further league goals at such illustrious levels of the Scottish Championship and ISL He was a f**king disaster, Garv

Banter era players 2007 - 2021 on 10:27 - Apr 9 with 789 views | BlueBadger | Damien Delaney - a centre half signed to play at left back, who was released before we could find suitable cover so that he could go and play in the US, who subsequently turned up playing for a club less than 100 miles away. And then subsequently got promoted.

Banter era players 2007 - 2021 on 09:02 - Apr 9 by OhDavidMcgoldrick | Jordan Spence For two reasons really - One is ushering the ball out of play for a Millwall corner, which they scored from. Second is having the ball under complete control away at Burton only to slice it out at a 90 degree angle. The worst RB I can remember |
Let's be real here, he was not great towards the end of his time here, completely checked out, but the seasons before that he was not that bad at all. He even filled at CB a couple of times and did a decent job. Feels like he got scapegoated a bit, but the majority of his time here was decent. We have had much worse RBs.
