Paul cooks reckons as the players are not sure if they will have a new contract it is effecting their performances, surely they should be playing out of their skins to try to gain a new one .

They have chucked the towel in since the takeover because they know the new owners are winners and will rip this club apart to get success. They know they have underperformed for months and months so a few games at the end of the season was never going to get them a new contract. Just hang in there until the end of the season. Viva la revolution.

Man management is a key part of his job. He's failing miserably at it and you're giving him a free pass.
Fk 'em, bar a couple of them, they've been pulling the wool over our eyes for years, pretending to care about the club and now they've been caught out, they don't have an answer for it.
He's telling them what we would be telling them from the stands. They've had it easy for over a year, with no pressure coming from any where.

Bunch of bottlers IMO.
I remember the tension at the ground after the Fleetwood game, the penultimate match with a fully opened stadium. It was toxic once again and it felt like things were coming to a head. The final game, Coventry, saw an incremental improvement but nowhere near enough - then we didn't play a league game for six months.
I can't believe Lambert would have been in post for the start of the new season has fans been allowed into the stadium - the loss of season ticket sales would have been too great. I certainly don't think he would have been kept after the defeat to Swindon. Giving him that January transfer window was the final straw for this season. The summer is going to be infuritating, exciting, confusing and will no doubt result in impatience if the market moves sluggishly. We just have to hope it works.

Yes but the way they are playing or rather not playing, they’ll be lucky to get a contract anywhere. You’d think they’d be busting a gut to get a contract somewhere next season.
They just aren't wanting to risk injuries and then not got a contract, especially if it's long term. Most of them will already know they are going and doing an ACL or something like that would screw them so they are going to put in less effort, consciously or not. Evans final parting gift is the frankly ridiculous contract situation this summer.
It's not a negative. Personally and some agree I think it is throughly unprofessional to air the dirty linen in public. That's a BALANCED view in my opinion.
Is he meant to lie then?. If he came out and said everyone did great like Lambert did, you would moan that he wasn`t telling the truth, exactly what is it you want him to say?

No-ones treating Cook as a Messiah. I think those with sensible opinions and balanced reasoning understand the dire mess he's inherited. As for his mana management, i think its great. He's hanging them out in the open to see who has the desire to want to play for this club. How can that be deemed a negative as you've positioned it to be?

No all he needs to do is say he is not happy and keep it brief and to the point

Actually Marcus Evans has not departed. Sadly. He retains an interest in the club and ownership of part of the training ground. Wish we had seen the back of him..............we are in this dire mess because of his strategies.

They are not playing for a contract here, that's the point. Most of them have interest from elsewhere and are preserving themselves for life after us.
The loanees are in there because they are not part of the risk.
