...I've been having a think about modernising the club, you know don't you though?

And what I thought was that the club badge needs a facelift...

...see it's a horse, and dey shoot horses don't dey?...

See, I was thinking...by the way, that maybeee...maybeee we change it.

Hows about some kind of bird? You know? Birds fly don't dey? Soar, like we're going to...

Ders dis reeeeeally reeeeally banging English Bird called a Liver Bird!

It even looks a bit like a Phoenix Brett lad!

We could put it on the badge and send the slow old horse to the knackers yard!

So, what about it Brett? Eh? Eh? Eh? Is that a great idea or what like?

Oh...yeah, and the kit...see about the blue...

Good!

I don't sadly. But it was probably a Greene King IPA at the Granta in Cambridge.

No. I've never that everyone but me are sheep.

I said SOME people think PC is beyond criticism and blindy follow him and anything that looks like an alternative view to theirs gets slammed.

Nothing about everyone but me being sheep.

Nice try though.

Im one of those blind followers

however, the reason for this is the fact the guy has been in the job for less than 4 months, whilst overseeing one of the biggest changes at the club in 14 years and the biggest cull of playing and club staff ive seen in my time supporting town.

His reputation speaks for itself, and despite the lack of goals overall his performance as manager has been fine with the cards he was dealt.

I am not happy with Jeffers once i learnt about his personal life, however PC has success in putting together coaching teams, the majority of the staff his puts together have gone onto higher levels as individuals.

Player wise, it'll take time to put together a proper recruitment centre within the club, don't forget out CEO hasn't even officially started as yet and Barron etc aren't even in the door. So why you would expect something so soon i'm not sure.

PC isn't alone in looking at his previous players, why wouldn't you. As long as they are a step up from this seasons squad then there's no problem with it and so far.

If in a years time things aren't great, ill hold my hands up and say bug ger it didn't go well.

Nope.

I think it's clear that there are some posters on here that think PC can do no wrong and that it is absolutely a crime against the football club to question him.

I think that any new manager that comes into a club should be questioned. Afterall, it's our club. Like Lambert, Keane, Hurst, McCarthy, Jewell, Duncan, Burley...anyone you care to mention, they are caretakers of our club and they come and they go. We're all still here and those guys have come and gone.

I think PC has got some stuff right, but I also think there is some stuff he's done is questionable. I love that he's passionate about liverpool his club and he doesn't hide it, I don't for one minute think that has any impact on his ability to do a fantastic job for our club. I like the man for goodness sake. He knows his football and cares. But equally I think his appointments (so far) smack of jobs for the boys and you could put question marks over the coaching credentials of everyone he's brought in so far. Hopefully that will change. I really hoped that with the US coming in we'd get a more performance based recruitment drive. Not a 'who do I like' drive.

I love the fact that we he turns up in front of the cameras he appears to speak from his heart. I don't like the way he roasted the players, said he was going to be demolition man and then doesn't really (so far) deliver on that. I'm dissappointed he got rid of Nydam. Nydam was probably on equivalent or there abouts to Drinan. Surely he was just as worthy of a chance.

Balance is all.

"Jobs for the boys"?

News flash, manager appoints staff around him that he's worked with for. You do realise managers will appoint their own coaching teams because they work well together and trust each other.

Look at McCarthy and Terry Connor. Look at Paul Hurst and Chris Doig. It's perfectly normal that a team of staff follow each other around. Why do you think when a manager leaves, his number 2 and colleagues will often leave shortly afterwards?

The flag is meant to represent the burning ambiton the US takeover is bringing to our club it's a positive thing.

I like a lot of what is going on.

There are several aspects I really don't like.

I don't just go with the flow blindly like some that's all.

A burning flag is never a positive thing no matter how you try and spin it.

I am sure with such a vivid imagination you can think of an alternative avatar which symbolises the US takeover without the scope of causing offence.

TractorCam, I know it can be hard to follow the thread sometimes, but this isn't about my orginal post or the takeover, it's a measured response to Mr Town's measured question about what I do and don't like about the current situation.

Fair enough, everyone is well within their rights to have their own opinion, and when an explanation is given as to why then you can't knock it.

I back him blindly I guess, I think he is a top manager, especially at League 1 who has had previous proven success, and will need longer than a couple of months to build this football club. Who he brings in will be based upon who he knows and can trust. He will know about Jeffers and what he can bring to his staff, it won't just be a lucky dip selection.

I do have another genuine question though, what was this OP about?

Poll: Would love to know the opinions on here now of Lambert genuinely?

I wish I could back him blindly. But I've backed blindly so many times before that I can't do it this time. It feels far too important.

If the new US backers are everything they appear to be we need the way the club is managed and run over the next season to adhere to the highest standards. Because failure will change things. If they get their fingers burned here, I don't think they'll ever be as free with their money again. The opportunity is NOW.

I agree Cook's record is good. But then, others have come here with championships and promotions to their names and not done the business here. And so I judge on what I see happening in the moment, not on what his record is. Or anyone else's would be for that matter. And he has made some mistakes so far for me. I can't pretend he hasn't. I hope he gets it right. For all our sakes.

And the OP? It was just a bit of fun about the fact (a fact I'm a little uncomfortable with) that all the people he's recruiting so far seem to be from the 'pool. I'd absolutely have no issue with this if they're coaching credentials where better btw.

I have backed blindly before, Paul Lambert been the worst, backed him far longer than most did, and got that one completely wrong.

However, Cook has been a success since his time at Chesterfield in 2012 onwards. You won't find better pedigree at this level than him. We are backing the right horse this time, and the club needs our full support going into next season.

Regarding Cook's recruitment, I find it strange people judging it from the outside. Cook is going to go for people he knows and trusts, that is not uncommon, every manager does that, and it is of no surprise they are from the North West region, they are his roots, and suspects has a lot of connections in that part of the world.

Trust is a huge thing for PC, and he will only bring people in he thinks he can rely on.
