I actually think Ward struggled with pace and strength.
His positioning helped him, but when people ran at him he didn't have the pace to cope. Also I remember numerous shoulder to shoulder moments where he just didn't have the strength of big guys 10 years younger than him. |  |

Clearly there were elements otherwise he would be staying. My point being overall at this level he had a rather solid season in a defence which was top 5 despite his age.
Defoe, or anyone of an age, all depends on how they are physically
as i mentioned in my other post, no one would turn down ibrahimovic, and he's 40! and still banged in a shed load of goals this season. |  |

Even the stronger sides in Lge 1 looked awful last season, such a poor standard.
I watched Dundee (Championship) v Kilmarnock (Prem) the other night, some really good quality in that game as there is most all Scot Prem games I have seen recently.

league 1 players - we should be aiming higher, why are letting dozzell, bishop go
cham players - waste of wages on journeymen, must be something wrong if he chooses us, hasn't acheived much in his career, luton!
experienced goal scorers late in careers - To old
Young goalscorers - 1 season wonder, we've had this before

Wasn't aimed at solely you Coco, it's regarding various responses to links.
It's actually difficult to know what sort of players the club should be aiming for when so many links get negative responses lol.
The way forward for us to get out of this league by signing players to do so, if that's a 39 year old who could get 20+ goals, go for it.
If Norwood is still going to be our number 1 striker, it will be difficult to attract a Piggot type as you won't get away with 2 no 1 strikers with 1 role available. [Post edited 26 May 2021 13:07]
