If anything the meaning has been clarified and should be easier to get behind. It started off tied in with the BLM protests last year, and those against could target the association with BLM and their anti capitalist stance, etc. But since then many clubs have released statements saying they see it solely as a non-political statement of anti racist support. So it’s really clear now. Those that oppose it can only be racists or racist apologists. |  |

I posted this recently. This is how the Supposed Loony Left was characterised in a daily paper in 1982. Cummings, the cartoonist, was even given an OBE the next year.
These were just people that were ahead of their time when it came to equality and fighting racism, apartheid, homophobia etc.

So instead of making efforts to develop an empathetic self and interrogate their biases in an attempt to move beyond them, they just try to move the goalposts of what is considered 'wrong'.

I realise I may upset a few here but I would like an end to taking the knee. I know, I know. I think it should be replaced by something else, continually, frequently. Doing the same thing all the time doesn't have enough impact in my opinion. It doesn't enrage me, I just feel it isn't enough any more.
Also, having an automated BLM message on sky annoys me. it's just something that is programmed in like a sponsorship message. It has no soul. |
