In fairness to Chrisd, for much of the first half we were passing it backwards a lot, very slow play, giving away the ball too often.
But ... we kept it tight in defence, Pickford was excellent, absorbed German pressure, then were able to turn it on in the later stages with enough flair to get the goals and win the game.
Arguably, that's the right approach for tounament play, where conserving energy, efficiency and peaking at the right time are the most important things to do. | |
