Legend. Proper legend.

What awful news.

Like Beattie perhaps in the all-time XI - what a player.

Consider myself very lucky to have seen him in his pomp…

Am so sorry to hear this news. Apart from giving us all so many great memories while with Town, he coached my sons at Rattlesden football club when they were young, as his son was also playing for them too.

A really lovely chap x

That is so sad.

‘Legend’ is thrown around about so many players that don’t deserve it, but he was an absolutely true legend.

RIP Paul, and thanks for so many memories, for both Town and England.

What a wonderful player, and I have never heard a bad work spoken about him as a person.
I suspect he may get a mention at Dartford this afternoon!

As a kid, I used to go in the barbers and ask for my hair to look like Paul Mariner. What a player.

Incredibly sad news.

Dreadful news, my favourite player, like so many on here who were so fortunate to live through those great days.

A great striker, so many memorable moments, for me the one that stands out was the winner against Liverpool at home in 1976, a bullet header into the far corner.

Rest in peace PM, I would walk a million miles.....
