1. I hope they have got the Bonne deal sorted behind the scenes because I don't think Pigott can shine in PC's system.
2. Even if the Bonne deal is done I hope they have lined up a replacement because we can't rely on Bonne to not get injured or lose form over the rest of the season.
3. We shouldn't recall Simpson. He should be allowed to play out the fantastic season he's having at Swindon, not come back and be a bit part player here. Him playing the whole season there will benefit us in the long run.
4. (the most contentious one) Don't rule out Norwood playing for us again before Jan and even (although unlikely) working his way back into the fold.

This statistic negates subs appearances, it is very cherry picked. Norwood is a striker who is 31, been injury prone for us, has obvious problems off the field, and does not have the favour of the board. It's not hard to see why we need better.

Indeed. Bonne wasn't first choice at the start of the season. His goals have made him undropable. But Pigott is very talented and given a run of games, should the occasion arise, he'll be more than good enough.

Indeed. There’s no problem with Pigott.
Bonne has been outstanding at doing much of the work himself, but I really think Pigott would be fine. He’s got enough of a physical presence but what he lacks in Bonne’s nuisance value he makes up as the sort of target man who we can play balls into feet and get others like Chaplin and Burns going beyond.
But, as you say, fully within Cook’s idea of being the striker in his system. |  |
